  • Damn this scene is epic. Who will ever top Heath as the Joker ? Mark Hamill is great too, but in a different way. Heath played him twisted, but you couldn't help but laugh sometimes, heh. THAT'S the Joker to me.

"Where is she ?!!!" I'd be borderline psychotic on your ass too if you abducted the woman I love, totally feel Batman on that one. If you can't, maybe you've never loved someone. Whole scene is well played by everybody. Definitely an 'instant classic' in my book.

  • 2:25 to 2:42 is the best.

  • Batman really needs to stop smoking.

  • Did harvey know about you and his little bunny!!!

  • hd my ass

  • WHERE ARE THEY

  • @apollo004 in an interrogation room duh?

  • Bitch left him for Dent, so he let her DIE!!!

  • RIP Heath Ledger, the only Joker to really ever set the audience on edge.

  • @SpartanSniper3 dont milk it

  • @SpartanSniper3 Mark Hamill??

  • @Theehenchy It's an exaggerated Chicago accent.

  • Best joker ever!!! not only demented, psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic, heartless, vengeful to society but very very smart and calculating. All his plans for assassinating specific victims, bank robbery, turning dent evil, hospital and attempt boat bombings. Truely a great performance by Heath Ledger, stole every scene he was on.

  • why so gay..

  • we all know Heath is amazing, but i really want to say that Christian Bale is also an amazing actor, and he did no weaker than Ledger in that movie

  • WHO PUNCHES A HAND.

  • Sorry everyone, I have a question. I dont come from America, and havnt been there yet, so I don't know... what diolect/accent is Heath puttng on for the character? Or is it just an idiolect?

  • @Theehenchy He is using a "funny" accent, people don't talk like that regularly, I believe it was to emphasis the jokers insanity.

  • Hi Babe!

  • WHO PUNCHES A HAND!

  • "see im not a monster , im just ahead of the curve" best line ever !!!!

  • 3:37 when batman throws the Joker into the wall, you can see the camera man and another crew member in the window reflection.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER

  • this part confuses me... didnt he say he was going after rachel? and the cops end up at rachels :O

  • @SperDrgnAznSlyer9001 The Joker purposely mixes around the addresses so that Batman will go to the wrong place. He already knows that Batman and Rachel had something going on, that's why he didn't want her to survive. He wanted to drive Harvey and Batman to insanity just to prove his point.

  • What really happened in this scene.

    Joker-"knock knock"

    Batman-"come in"

Because batman doesn't care who comes in.

  • 3:43-3:46 joker's dancing i cant believe i didn't notice that before..

  • HD?

  • 'The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules and tonight, you are gonna break your one rule'

    'ADSIFASDFNIANDFA!'

  • Them?

  • Does anyone know what type of gloves batman uses in this scene (please be specific)?

  • omg people. Bale is an excellent Batman

Heath and Mark's Jokers are legendary

stop bitching and enjoy the scene

    RIP Heath. Love you

  • bale looks like bale dressed up as batman. he doesnt fit.

  • @shadovex28 Better than Clooney, that's all I have to say.

  • @shadovex28 I hope your not a man because you complain like a chick. Please tell me why The Dark Knight Rises will be a let down? Clearly Christoper Nolan's batman series has out performed all the others. Deal with it and move on.

  • for some reason batman was always my favorite hero..maybe thats becouse he aint got any superpowers :D

  • Bale's Batman has such a stupid voice!

  • notice he closed his eyes before his head was slammed on the table

  • @3R3BU5GAT35 That was just the reaction to the lights turning on

  • lol 4:25

  • 3:38 look at the mirror right whoops

  • I bet you all skipped to 1:41

  • @Thebestever441 There's other videos that start later on but I like seeing the Joker's effect on Gordon. It's so creepy when he's talking quietly like that in the dark, and Gordon is clearly losing it / even intimidated by him. This is when Gordon hasn't slept for days and just thought he could go home to his family. But he can't. Because the Joker doesn't sleep or go home. He's 24/7.

  • @StarwindAmada20

    Geez.. Batman obviously.

  • When he bangs his head into the glass, there are two more cracks in the glass, probably from two different takes of the scene.

  • @d1995a3 Nope, the cracks aren't real.

  • @JokerDonny You mean computer-generated "not real"?

  • @d1995a3 That's right.

  • @JokerDonny Of course they are real, im assuming you saw the Wizard World footage in which it doesnt crack, most likely a practice shot

  • @solyentbrak1 They mentioned it in a featurette. Also, the shot from the Wizard World trailer is the shot from the actual film.

  • @JokerDonny Please link me to this featurette

  • @solyentbrak1 I've been trying to find it for the past 20 minutes but I'm not going to go through hours of footage to get it :P I assure you the cracks are CG when he hits the glass. The cracks you see in the phone call scene are real, obviously.

  • To think about it, Batman did break his one rule. He killed Dent to save Gordon's son and Dent's reputation.

  • @slaidification No i don't think so. Bats flung himself at Dent. They both fell, and the flooring gave way, hence Dent fell to his own death.

  • I LOVE the Joker. Heath was amazing! He taught me one important thing......NEVER start with the head....;)

  • Good eveening comisionaire........XD.

  • That ominous tone that starts playing, and you know something bad is gonna happen

    ;____;

  • [ause really quickly ay 3:38 and look to the right you can see the reflection of one of the crew memers :P

  • My favorite! <3

  • Heath Ledger throws himself completely into the role...Ledger is mesmerising in every scene and his performance demented dervish, the Joker...i described his Joker as a psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy but hes gone never forgotton R.I.P. Heath Ledger

  • look at his hand between 3:48 and 3:45 his hand changes round

  • Joker: “you complete me”

Batman: “then you’re gonna love me!”

And he punches joker in the face.

  • I can't wait to have a whole new collection of instantly memorable and brilliantly acted scenes in the Dark Knight Rises. I mean how could that movie possibly fail?

  • @forbiddenphoenix765 It's a sequel, of course it's gonna be lesser than the original. If it's good, it'll probably get three and a half stars. The first one got four. And trust me, if they show an iPad, iPhone, or some stupid sexy girl scene, the movie's a failure.

  • @d1995a3 That's pretty pessimistic. There are plenty of good examples of sequels surpassing the original. Also product placement is just an evil that we have to put up with. It's not going away any time soon.

  • @forbiddenphoenix765 Okay. Well we'll see in time.

  • me and my friend love shouting at people in my class "WWWWWWERES HARVEY DENT!!!!" in a deep voice

  • such a powerful punch

  • Such incredible acting. RIP Heath Ledger :'(

  • Only just noticed his "look at you go!" Brilliant.

  • Best scene of the film, and it's not close.

  • 5 minutes 15 seconds of awesomeness!

  • Christian Bale ruins every scene in this movie

  • @likelylike

    More like improves fucking dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • I remember seeing in theaters, at 4:38 everyone started laughing cause he was laughing like "what the hell is he laughing about?" lol

  • Rip ledger. Possibly the best joker that has or will ever be. Its tragic we will never see it again =(.

  • kkkkkkkkkkkk 4:20

  • Do anyone know the name of theme that start around 2:48?

  • @StevieGG08 yes, it was a joke. Though Cesar Romero was awesome in his own way as well.

  • At 3:37 if you look closely on the right mirror you can see the camera man!

  • Cesar Romero makes Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker seem like some kid doing a high school play.

  • @crewmandax you are kidding right?

  • @1SpeedDean no, actually I prefer his performance in Brokeback Mountain more:)...and he wasn't a faggot in that movie he was bisexual and the movie was great:)...it's just shows he was a versatile actor:)

  • Has anyone read "Joker" by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo? It's kind of got a Heath Ledger-ish feel about it (with, bizarrely, a bit of Cesar Romero thrown in in certain panels).

  • "where are they?! The cough drops, where are they?"

  • Screw superman go Batman

  • WHO PUNCHES A HAND

  • @StarwindAmada20 Batman. Since he can break almost anything basically, with his strength. :)

  • @StarwindAmada20 BATS DO!

  • @StarwindAmada20 What do u mean?

  • @StarwindAmada20 I'm sorry I broke your rule, giant bat, all I had was two beers and some cooking sherry.

  • @StarwindAmada20 He who has just punched a foot

  • @StarwindAmada20 BATMAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!

  • If that was Superman beating the shit out of the Joker, the Joker would be dead instantly.

  • @TLC2287 Superman's a fag.

  • I used to be a Joker like you, then I took a knee to the face.

  • no cuts or nothing when he gets thrown at the glass

  • The jokers face is a skull with a bleeding mouth.

  • It is so funny when the Joker starts to laugh psychotically after being punched in the face : ) I'm going to miss Heath so much : (

  • no i get it, The joker has always been a philosopher

  • @Persil101 The Joker switched the sites, knowing batman would go to "Rachel's" Location. Unfortunately Batman falls for it and has no choice but to save Harvey instead.

  • 4:37 best.joker.laugh.ever

  • this movie is so inacurate about the joker

  • @TheAvatarman33

This movie is very accurate about the Joker.

  • @TheAvatarman33 ummm no it brought out the criminal, pshycotic side of his character, whereas tim burton's batman brought out more of his comedic side

  • @admiralflynn895 im talking about the cartoon based after the comic book joker, which has the scarier, yet most funny laugh with the amazing voice over work of mark hamill, tis jokers voice and laugh sounds like a perv who sounds like he would rather take u as a sex slave then a homacidal maniac.

  • @TheAvatarman33 oh well u could have just narrowed it down in your previous comment that they were inaccurate about the laugh and voice

  • @admiralflynn895 kk, is there in ANY batman that he wheres make up? in the comics it was an accident with cemicals

  • @TheAvatarman33 yeah that i agree with you about, i suppose chris nolan change the acid effect on his skin to "makeup" to make him scarier, not that having bleached white skin like fuckin Kratos (God of War games) isn't scary enough, idk

  • Lt. James Gordon: Where is he?

    The Joker: What's the time?

Lt. James Gordon: What difference does that make?

The Joker: Well, depending on the time, he may in one spot, or several. :)

  • Whats he mean when he says no going back? Changes forever?

  • I know Batman should have gone to save Dent instead of Rachel, but If you put yourself in Batman's shoes,in such a short time to decide whom you had to save and I will bet my house that all of us would choose the one we love most. His decision is totally understandable.in that situation all he could think at that time was Rachel's safety not about whether or not the Joker tricked him. Those things make Batman is the best superhero of all time b/c after all he is still human like us.

  • @blackknight126 I said that any man would save the woman he loves but that was thinking more like a man and not the symbol of Justice. At that point you could say he had become corrupt because he only cared about his feelings and not the good of Gotham. So right there he was Bruce not Batman. Comic book Bats is not perfect but he would've weighed his options much better. But you live and learn.

  • Certainly a great scene by ten years. It´s incridible as Headger Leather become the joker. It was a great actor.

  • I tried laughin like that once. I felt awesomely good, but it's really, REALLY HARD!

  • In all reality Batmans selfishness killed Rachael because if he would've went after Dent he would've saved Rachael. But at the same time I don't get the worlds greatest detective from Nolans Batman because we all know comic book Batman would've figured it was a bluff.

  • @Bigalinbklyn83 You're forgetting that Joker lied to Batman and switched the directions. And about realizing about the bluff, consider that during almost the entire movie, Batman understimated the Joker, being their first one on one.

  • @DevilishmanThe I know he lied but he only went for Rachael out of his own selfishness. Sure any man would go to save the woman he loves but he's supposed to be more than a man he's a symbol. What would saving Rachael mean for Gotham where as saving Dent would help clean the streets. But anyway you look at it Batman loses because Rachael was gonna marry Harvey anyway.

  • @Bigalinbklyn83 Mmmm....you got a point there. I guess cuz the Bat needed Rachel to keep going, cuz in the movie, after she dies, Bruce says that she would have waited for him. That's a lie. She was going to marry Dent. But Bat refused to accept it. He needed her.

As for being a symbol...I gotta concede that point.

  • @DevilishmanThe I think at that point he was more irrational meaning he was more Bruce than the Batman. Also Bruce never found out that she was going to be with Dent because Alfred kept the letter from him and burned. He thought that she would leave Dent and thats why he probably felt so bad to what happened to him.

  • "I don't-I don't wanna kill you! What would I do without you?!"

  • easily the best monologue in movie history.

  • @atheist6in6a6foxhole Not even remotely close.

  • this shouldve been rated r mace it evn more darker then it already is

  • nolans favourite scene from tdr

  • bat boy is going to get fucked up and die

  • One of the best, if not the best, acting I have ever seen.

  • @thesoul08

Indeed, and the Joker actor even said he wanted to be punched (quite litterly, not even faking it) to make it more real

Acting doesn't get beter than this folks...

  • @thesoul08 You should watch more films.

  • I would have given up if i was the Joker at 1:51.

  • They're only as good as the world allows them to be...

  • @Persil101 cause Harvey dent was the main objective. Gotham needs Dent and they did send cops to rachel but not in time sadly..

  • @wererer actually if you listen carefully. gordon asks batman who is he going after and batman says rachel.. so the joker switched the addresses on him.

  • @shaanz123 yeah i just realized when i rewatched it lol wow what a mindblow! so in the end bruce chose the woman he loves rather than gotham's white knight

  • at 3:36 when batman slams joke to the wall, on the right window of joker u see a guy, play and stare at that window

  • HD my ass!

  • When supervillans want to scare each other, they tell joker stories.

  • one thing that has always bothered me about this scene is the distinct lack of gore. he smashed his head into plate glass, pummeled him in the face, crushed his hand. And yet there's no knocked out teeth or busted nose. No bubble eye. There's no blood and no discernible sign of injury

  • i love how the joker just laughs as batman is beating the living shit out of him. lol if it were me i would be crying!

  • You've changed things.. forever.. there's no going back. you see to them.. your just a freak, like me.

  • camera crew at 3:37

  • why do I relate so much to such a crazy/ evil character? I think that what he says about society is entirely true. It's what he does about it that's the problem.

  • @MrFrost227 It's not true though, not even a little.

  • @louthegiantcookie lol why do you say that?

  • @MrFrost227 While it might or might not be true about real life, the film makes a pretty clear point that Joker is wrong about Gotham at least.

  • @munchie64 Good point. In my comment I was referring to real life. I'm a misanthrope. I'm constantly disgusted and horrified at the human race. With a very few exceptions, people and their egos, cruelty, irrational behavior, and seeming inability to even concieve of ethical behavior just seem like wild, rabid dogs to me. So ready to beat down anyone that is different from themselves. Viscious, black blooded, venal, rabid, animals. This Joker tells it like it is. (to me)

  • wow, you really give HIGH DEFINITION a new concept.

  • And the Joker is wrong.

  • At 4:59, I love the emotion you can see in his eyes. The realization that this is exactly what Alfred and Rachel had warned him about. He knows he has gone too far. I just love these movies.

  • ''Well theres only minutes left so you're gonna have to play my little game if you want to save one of them.''

    ''Them?''

Definately an 'Oh Shit' moment in the movie.

  • Hey gave him the beating, not that he deserves, but the one he needed.

  • Its a bad joke

  • "well depending on a the time, he may be in one spot or severa"

thats a spin off of the schrodinger's cat experiment !

  • 4:38 speaks about itself !!!!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P Joker

  • I hate the Joker so much

    because he killed Heath Ledger

  • batman looks wierd :P

  • it actually bothers me on a personal level when people say they don't like this movie....HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

  • scene made the movie for me

'When the chips are down...these civilized people..will eat each other' is the Joker's version of 'A society is three meals away from anarchy'

the movie, of course, shows people rise above self-interest and refuse to debase themselves

do I believe a huge group of people would all act nobly when faced with death? No way

but what kinda ending would that be? Joker's right, people blowing other people up to save themselves?

be a grim 'Lord of the Flies'-type ending

  • To Generlj--The music you ask about is the original music written by Zimmer and Howard. That out of tune piano pops up in at least two places on the soundtrack which I have and recommend very highly. Original and interesting. Please also check out the soundtrack for Batman Begins, very different and some of the most beautiful music in the last 50 years. That's a bold statement, but I grew up in classical and I stand by it. You can really consider it to be a tone poem (symphonic poem).

  • 4:26 "WHER AR REY!!"

    *PUNCH*

    RE RA REY!!"

  • The Joker has the control all the time.....

  • Batman is trying to break the joker, when he doesn't realize The Joker has broke him.

  • i dont wanna kill u ! what would i do without u that's funny.

  • 1:42 worth of watch 1.000 times ^^

  • The Jokers main point was that Batmans technically insane, he has no powers other than sheer obsession. He cant manipulate this whacko though.

  • i believe he died because of this scene "when the chips are down these CIVILIZED people will eat each other"
