I think for 8000 you can order in Fender custom shop(or jackson) hand build guitar, even 8 string. That will be much more quality, sound and your own design!

Why doesn't Ibanez make an entry level 8 string (besides the RGA8) that has a string thru body, and doesn't feature the shitty stock active pickups that the RGA8 has? I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to do.

@tritonobionico why the fuck is 8000? is just a piece of wood, not the most expensive type, alder, maple, rosewood, bubinga (I have a friend with a full Warwick bubinga thumb bass, it was only 2500 euro) with one fuck'n pickup.

Ibanez SUCKS. I bought a RG1527z, I was never able to get the guitar in tune. Months later I discovered that the truss rod is flawed, I cant get the neck straight. Plus the basswood that Ibanez uses sucks. Im not a prejuiced person but that is my experience with Ibanez.

Go back to the store, get it fixed or replaced. Not that hard is it? It's not "flawed", just broken or (not meant unkindly) you don't know what you're doing. Either get it set up by a pro or if you do have enough experience to make that call, take it back and have if fixed.

@acledfloyd sometimes if a humbucker is damaged it hum and makes more feedback because of the exposed wires, it could be a cosmetic thing, or he needs it so his pick wont get caught by the pickup. Idk but its just a guess

I love Ibanez. They are one of the best massed produced guitars you can find. From $200 up to $10,000 they got it covered. My son just bought an 8-string and has it tuned to drop A, which I think is four whole steps and the bottom string is tuned down another step. If I am wrong, just let me know, I am not too certain. Anyways, I thought it would be so low and sludgy that is would sound like shit, but it doesn't. Forget all the chords you know, it's a whole new animal.

@acledfloyd Well, Dimebag had tape on his neck pickup as well. I've heard that he did it to avoid that his strings would get caught underneath the pickup when he used his floyd although I can't confirm this. Maybe Steve does it for the same reason or maybe it's just aesthetic. Either way, the guitar looks killer.
