  • i have a question regarding this camera somebody gave me one.

and it didn't really come with cables or anything.

how do i transfer my photos from my camera to computer is it through a cable that goes to camera?

or is it a reader for the memory card?

i have to buy one and i want to know which is best

    thank you

  • @skowal1988 To transfer the photos you need either a compact flash card reader or a Nikon UC-E4 USB Cable.

Let me know if you need any help in using this camera and I will be happy to give you a hand.

  • i like the review and the camera which I also own. great job and don't the negative comments they just want attention.

  • do you know the difference of D2X and the D2xs? because in pix its about point 2 or 4 its the ISO? perhaps ? / so you recomendet the d7000? today in a regular range? or the d300s?

  • It was a good video until that stupid ass noise

  • Don't get me wrong the D2X was a great camera in it's day. But don't forget you are buying technology. Digital camera's have moved a long way in the 7 Years since this camera went on sale. (Went on sale late 2004) I think I would have paid the bit extra cash and bought the D7000 TBH. Please don,t take this the wrong way. The D2X is a great camera. But the D7000 Is far better in every way. BTW The Nikon D40 is a little gem of a camera.I still use mine as a back up camera. I won't part with it!

  • Its a nice camera, but I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it.

  • Super review Matt, it seems your flickr page is not active, is there another page to view your work??

  • Matt you are ugly

  • Go brush you're stinking rotten yellow teeth moron

  • is the d2x full frame?

  • @TehWitZz nope

  • I'm deciding between D7000 and D2x.

    Which one do you think?

  • So how much did that cost? no more than a d300 I hope.

  • @chingy1788 AUD$1500 - AUD$500 cheaper than a D300s (D300 unavailable at the time of purchase)

  • @mattandhisnikon thats not bad actually.

  • is it HD?

  • Comment removed

  • Great video review! You are spot-on btw! The newer models are just dearer, not better. I often look at images from all the best cameras on pbase, flickr etc., and to be honest, the D3 and D700 are not any better in terms of image quality and to be more honest, I actually prefer the image from the D2x and find them more reaslistic. When you bear in mind that a new D3 is 6 times more cost than a D2x from ebay, you'd be mad to opt for the newer stuff.

This camera will fullfill my every need!

  • Studio at ISO 100 or 200 this camera is great.

if you enjoy photography any camera (slr) should do. if you shoot at daytime its best to set it to ISO400; @ f2.8 or get an upgrade to D3/d3s as editing causes a few glitches. On long shoot's watch for dust. get yourself a set of good lenses. many people are not trained in photography and need point and shoot devices,Good luck and thanks for posting.

  • Whoever this YIMMA996TT is he has invalidated everything he has to say by that horribly immature statement. Someone who has a D7000 and a D3S should not use nyaaaaa in their comments if they wanted to be taken seriously. Anyway I too have a D2X and I love it!

  • hey are you selling your d2x? :)

  • @rbfksr Considering I only bought it 5 months ago, no.

  • 97jfox, you can stick your tongue in my asshole. Your parents are retarded goatherders from Croatia.

  • @mattandhisnikon not you matt!!!! that other guy !!!

  • @97jfox Oops! sorry :o I always read those replies wrong, when it says @someone, I always read it as them having posted the comment :P

    My bad...

  • @YIMMA996TT I appreciate the feedback, but I think you should watch the video - Fo what I need, this camera suits me perfectly. I know the ISO is shit, but I don't shoot at high ISO's. I also don't like the LCD screen on the D2X, but that teaches me to use histograms. The image quality from this camera suits my needs, and I'm over the moon with it. A good photographer can overcome the limits of his gear, and this teaches me excellent discipline in the field.

    The immaturity wasn't required.

  • @YIMMA996TT you are a dick.

  • @YIMMA996TT wow... LOL!

  • @YIMMA996TT you muppet the d2x is a great camera and yes the d7000 is better in almost every aspect but if it feels like crap in ya hands then ya not going to get good photo's with it, I have a D300's and yes it's better than the d2x but how realy cares if u get the camera that fit's the job that you got it for then thats fine,,d7000 is the best camera in the dx but having used 1 for 3weeks for my holidays and YUK i hate it i'd take the d2x anyday it feels just right and not like a toy.

  • @YIMMA996TT

Who goes onto youtube and trashes someone's choice of hardware? I bet you know the specs of every digital camera out there, but haven't the slightest idea on how to take a good photo with one. The specs of the D2X fits this gentleman's needs. Enough said.

  • @YIMMA996TT Just saw your channel, you're a fat bastard who couldn't even hold a D3s never mind use one! The only one talkin' crap here is you ya wanker! Do us a favour...'hang yourself....'and send us the photos! LOL!

    Fuckin' loser!!

  • @YIMMA996TT I agree with your iso problem, but I always wonder, WHEN THE HELL DO YOU NEED SUCH HIGH ISO??????

  • @YIMMA996TT I want to know why you are going around on all of these d2x vids and hating on everyone of them? Any reason besides you just wanting to be a dick to everyone to make your useless life feel better? How about this...Go kill yourself because no one gives a flying fuck about your D3s.

  • @YIMMA996TT it totally depends on your needs! I shoot a D2X as a second body, image quality is just great, yep notorious for noise above 800ISO, but high continuous frame rate! i couldn't shoot the fast moving sports i shoot with a d7000 or d90, both are mid range domestic (d90 replaced the d80 and the d7000 replaced the d90) ... D3S? if you do actually have one, do you think your a "pro with a big body"?

  • Thanks for the Nikon (knee-kon) D2X review! As others mentioned, very honest review and informative! I'm keeping an eye out on eBay for a used model (looking to make my D80 as a backup). I sure wish I win!!! You should remove "Amateur" from your Flickr photostream because the photos you've taken and composed are great!

  • Just got mine for $1,000 w/2 batteries, charger, strap, box, manual, cps.

  • i just want to ask since its not that good on high ISO and i shot sport photography i dont know if this camera will work on indoor sports????????????

  • @kathleen023 In terms of outdoor sports, I find the performance of this body exceptional. For indoor sports, I don't think it's your best option. For indoor sports you will probably be shooting with an ISO of 640 and upwards (I'm assuming), to which point using this camera would not be efficient, and you'd spend more of your time on the computer using noise reduction software.

For better High ISO performance, try the Nikon D7000 which uses newer technology in that area.

  • @kathleen023 it will, good quality lenses will help, the nikon range at f2.8 throughout the zoom... look at any sports shots 2006 to 2008... chances are the were on a d2x (if not canon!)

  • Hi.

I have an Nikon D2Xs that I bought used to. Fantastic Cameras. When you are demonstrating the shutter speeds you don't get full speed. At least it seems like that. It might be because you had the camera in P, A or S mode. This is the first good video I have seen on this camera model. Good luck with your Shooting :)

  • I have D90 but i am getting good deal on D2x do you think its worth to buy D2x even if it is very low price ?

  • @jerseyman9080 What price are you getting it for?

  • @mattandhisnikon $400.00 Camera body with 2 batteries and Memory card.. What do you think ?

  • @jerseyman9080 Well mine was AUD$1,400 with 1 battery and a charger. But mine was in mint condition with only 13,000 actuations, so it was pretty much near new for a 5 year old pro model.

Depends on the condition and how its been looked after, but sounds as if you got a great deal. I also had the advantage of buying mine from a store that I could go into and fully inspect it in, and that also gave me a 1-month warranty. If you buy online it's a matter of crossing your fingers.

  • @mattandhisnikon You are right. I drop my plan to buy that, I just bought 105mm 2.8g Macro so i can practice on Macro photography, going to put new camera body in hold till Christmas. Thank for your help and meaningful advice.

  • Just wanted to know how much you paid for it because I am looking to buy one and I want to know what a good price would be.

  • What a fu*k kill this birds!

  • Shoot above iso200 and with noise reduction software and filter in photoshop it should be no probs for anyone else..you can't beat the quality build of a pro body but it's a nice piece of glass on the front that makes or breaks an image shot..

The button your looking for to change to high speed crop is inside your shooting menu.Go into shooting menu..goto F5 func button selection goto into sub menu an select func button and dial on..this will allow you to hold the func button and spin the rear

  • Really nice review mate...I had been looking for a decent review on a D2x for a little while as I was looking for a backup body to my Nikon D3s...a D700 I slightly out of the price range at the minute...and as you have stated people shouldn't knock an older body..6 yrs ago it was the flagship model..hell give it another 2 yes and people will be slagging the D3x off or the flagship canons.Sure technology has moved on and the only real issue with the d2x is noise above iso800 but I dont shoot abo

  • Is someone murdering smurfs in the background??

  • @TomHart666 It's my birdy! :D

  • very nice choice and video. What type of sensor does it have? Full frame? Crop?

  • @iFloridaAllStar Nikon's last professional full bodied camera with a crop/DX sensor

  • Nice review, and you have some wondeful images on your flickr pages. Nice work !

  • That bird kills me!

  • please compare the viewfinder between D40 & D2x as they are pentaprism and pentamirror. how big difference can it give you while manual focus??

  • A down-to-earth review, at last!.I like your common sense approach, cheers.

  • Awesome review. I just bought a Nikon D2x last week. Can't wait to get it and try out this week. =) Nice to see another D2x user!

  • You mention a button that can be assigned to switch to hi-speed cropped mode. I believe the button is the lower of the two, to the right of the lens (or to the left, as you look at the front of the camera), the upper button being your DOF preview button.

I've also just upgraded to the D2x today (collect tomorrow), but from the much older D1x. Looking forward to the extra performance the D2x offers! Best of luck with yours! :)
