  • Is it possible to be a good bass drummer without dickering around like a Fiddlin` Mary these days? Back in the `40`s we were taught to keep our feet planted and leave the swaying arse motions to the ladies after a few pints. I can see tapping out the beat by foot during practice but I`d be embarrassed as a shit eating dog to fluff about in competition like some kind of ballerina type. My grandson does the same thing and it irritates me to no end. Guess it is standard prac. now a days! God Bless!

  • I'm not surprised to see Vale doing well again - with Mr Turner at the helm of the drum corps.

Once again the band has what it was lacking the last couple of years - good meaty punchy drumming.

Go Paul !! Go Vale !!

  • I remember seing their video from the 80's, and they still sound very good, I wish I could find a video of them playing Steamtrain to Mallaig.

  • It's great to see the Vale doing well again. Shame about the 8th in piping dragging them down a bit, I'm amazed the drum corps was placed so highly. If they can beat the Frasers they could well be back in the prizes again at the Worlds. Then again, they'd have to beat SLOT as well, and they've had an excellent start to their season, so maybe not.

  • I just noyiced, that bass drummer is really gettin down.lol
