AoC was hands down, the most beautiful game I've played, I loved it for a while, but it did get rather lonely, I had a guild, but they werent on that often. Seems the game was set up for a much larger player base than what they have/had. I love the realistic combat styles, I nearly fell off my chair the first time I chopped someones head off hehe.
Why is it, that all people who have been a fan of wow, claim that ALL MMOs both before wow's time and after are wow clones? Or the same as wow, or just like wow, similar to wow etc when its completely different in graphics, game play and classes? No matter how different an MMO is, if it uses a Sword and Shield, it is the same as wow. Makes no sense. The ONLY similarities to wow AoC has is it uses sword and shield, and has quests. Those two things define an MMO like this, not make it the same.
I played this game from the pre-release. It was so much fun... then I got my Bear Shaman to lvl 80 and maxed out all the raid gear. So then I got bored and figured i'll roll a necro. So I rolled a necro and got her to lvl 80, maxed out on raid gear... then got bored. The game was geared for max lvl gameplay but once you maxed there was nothing to do... kind of sad. Had a lot of potential.
Wiccana has a good population and always 4-5 calls at a time going out for raids. The new Pvp server opens soon... Old school pvp / body looting etc; everyone starts at lvl 1
I play on Wiccana, im in a nice guild and the max lvl do raid all the time (im not cause im newbie yet, started a couple weeks ago). This game is just awesome in my opinion, if you like it, make a free trial (now is time-unlimited) and play the first 20 lvls to see it for yourself, dont wait for other ppl to move first, go and do your part! Oh, and another thing, i play on geforce 210 with shadows on and near max (a bit tweaked) graphics with 40 fps, no lag no problem.
Tyranny is back and very much alive. Now there are people everywhere. The last few patches fixed the game. Kudos to Funcom. I've switched back to PvP and it is AMAZING now.
Yeah, it was a great looking game, just could never find a group. I did not like the way the game healed too. Just was not for me, I guess. Still it nice to see.
@rostudios agreed on the healing thing. i played a priest of mitra all the way up and there were 2 main heals which both did heal over time effects and were an aoe so they didnt hit very effectively at all.
@urchin34 in other mmo the healing classes complain that they only press buttons, in Aoc the healing class fight and heal with hot and some still complain...u cant get it right for everyone:D
Hey! I just wonder, is this game like Wow? With fucking big world, shitloads with quests, gears and stuff like that? I just wonder because my friends and me are going to try a different mmorpg cuz we're little tired of Wow's graphics and gameplay :P
@lordcedrik4 Yep Age of Conan (AOC) is just like wow. the only difference is that it looks way more realistic, in between zones you have to load, and there aren't 2 factions (horde and alliance) its a few different races of people and they can all pvp against each other if you pick the pvp servers.
@urchin34 The game is nothing like wow aside from the fact that it shares the same qualities any mmo has to. Combat and everything differ. Funcom selling out is why the game went dead. It is F2P now if you want to get bored and owned fast. AOC was a skill oriented game. You couldn't merely get away with spamming spells. However as usual, horrible players and children began to complain and the game ended up breaking in the end. Yeah your comment is 11 months old, just correcting you.
@MrPhotoFreakish this is the NVIDIA GTX 460m graphics card and i played my free trial coming back to the game but did not renew my subscription mostly because the number of people there is very small now, down to just a few servers and only 2 of them seem to have a good chunk of players.
@MrPhotoFreakish I'm not playing this Game, but the Game needs more people. It only raises again if people like you make the first step and dont just start when many are playing!

The population on Wiccana is doing just fine.
The only PvP server, Tyranny, is practically dead though. There just aren't enough players that enjoy 24/7 FFA PvP.
