  • ¡Wow! ¡Impactante! ¡Genial!

  • Like if Eric Whitacre sent you here!!

  • Even in the deepest HUMBLENESS/LOWLINESS,

    Are glorified.

  • this was the first Passion I was paid to sing. Though due to health my voice is not what it was I will never forget this music and though it is too high for me now I will always cherish this movement

  • I think I like what Stephen Cleobury did with the King's Choir and the Brandenburg Consort a little more than J.E. Gardiner. Unfortunately, the version available on youtube is heavily compressed. The boy choir of course being a little more true to history. Helmut Rilling's version is also wonderful, especially in regards to instrumentation. Look up this title up to find both: J. S. Bach (1685-1750) - Johannes Passion (BWV 245) - I. Chorus: "Herr, unser Herscher"

  • Bach really great and misterious......

  • Is this the JE Gardener version?

  • @euspbadoggy

Yes this is Gardiner and Monteverdi Choir, recorded in 1986 (Archiv).

  • Danke!

  • With your videos, you gave a lot of beautiful moments to all Bach's lovers. Thanks stigekalder !!!

  • a good candidate for the competition on the title: the best piece ever... luckily we dont have to choose, just a way of speech, of course.

  • Herr, unser Herrscher, dessen Ruhm

    In allen Landen herrlich ist!

    Zeig uns durch deine Passion,

    Dass du, der wahre Gottessohn,

    Zu aller Zeit,

    Auch in der größten Niedrigkeit,

    Verherrlicht worden bist!

  • fantastic thx!

  • ¡Grandíoso y Maravilloso!

  • Bach's handwriting is incredibly clear. I've performed this and can sing along easily.

  • I like Bach's handwriting. It's graceful and has visual appeal, but is still very clear and legible.

  • @b0ttomzone this is the handwriting of Johann Nathaneal Bammler

  • @VolkColopatrion

No, the first part of the manuscript is actually by Bach himself (until the midst of 10th movement). The remaining part is by Bammler.

  • @stigekalder oh, neeto

  • Brilliant, inspiring, sublime, much overlooked gem of JSB

  • Brilliant, inspiring, sublime

  • counterpoint and emotion are the same thing

  • Thank you stigekalder for this TIMELESS miracle & accurate description ! & Sir J.E. Gardiner's version ( as usual...) genuine as sunlight...His interpretations are done SO CLEARLY , that it seems to me I'm hearing Bach through some kind of audible "X Ray..." one word - GENIUS !

  • Thank you very much! It means a lot to see Bach's handwriting during an authentic performance!

  • @smakant71

The Bach score is an original manuscript which a German library has scanned and made available

  • Stiegekalder, that is gorgeous, to see the handwriting of the old Bach like this is just extraordinary! I missed looking at the oboe parts though! Thank you!

  • The best performance ever! This and Philippe Herreweghe... Don't even know which one is better

  • Thanks,@stigekalder.

    Great music.
