I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old TR6 Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!
@jessamine809 same as tr6, carbs no fuel injection, no supercharger. That is the Dyno making the whistling noise. big cam, headwork, compression, good exhaust system, lots of time!
Cruising it sounds like a very nice 2.5 inline 6 with a perfect burble out the back, as all good Triumphs should.
However, on full throttle this machine turns into a beast that leaves you with an ever expanding smile. The induction noise and exhaust note completely transform, sounding nothing like the mild mannered cruiser of just seconds before.
Much respect to the hours of work and money (well spent) on this car, it is truly an amazing bit of engineering.
@zxhoon thumb up on that one, my father have one but in now horrible condition(just been standing for 9 years) :( but im not gonna let him give it to the junkyard.... im gonna fix it and drive it if he doesnt care
Big cam, some head work, big compression, extractors triple su carbs standard bore, mod distributor check out triumphowners tasmania website for all the full info! , cheers, stu
All naturally aspirated. Pretty heavily modified, but all triumph. the whistling in the video is the dyno spinning up. ran it to 6200 rpm and about 200kmh
remember metec, no point changing from first to second in the auto as it wouldnt shift back, just left it in 1st doing 70ks an hour haha such a great engine!

This car is a work of art, far more than just the engine and drive train, the interior and exterior are very tasteful and well presented.
I feel rather privileged to say I have had a ride in this vehicle once, a number of years ago.

Ah, the sound of 6 in a row brings a tear to my ear!
I think of it as half a V12!
Soon I will post a video of my '78 'S'. It's not a nice as yours though.
