Glock 23 ... Is that Gen4? I haven't heard good things about Gen4. I have 3 other Glocks all Gen 3. No problems whatsoever... well, long long ago I would get an occassional 1 per 100 rounds Fail to Feed (FTF). Turns out I was limp-wristing. Once I locked my wrist, no more FTF. As you know FTF are the easiest of mechanical fails to clear....rack and go.
Steve, Grats on the promotion & the new weapon! Hope they are both working out well for you. I love my GLOCK 30 & my GLOCK 36, but then I'm partial to the ol' .45 cal. May God bless & keep you & yours.
Congrats, I wish it was that simple here in South Africa, Had to wait 3 years for mine to come. Lost my applications twice, "misplaced" my competency Twice and had to submit my motivation 3 times OH yes and 7 lawyers letters.
Congratulations on your promotion. I know you'll like the day shifts better. Nice new toy too. You got a good wife. Have a goodin and Happy Shooting, yf, BigTiny100
I worked nights for 21 yrs straight. Went to days 2yrs ago. Instantly I had more energy, sleep better, and lost 15 lbs. Wife and harmonics say I'm not as grouchy!! People are not meant to be nocturnal.
Steve, Con crates on the promotion! God is good! Awesome wife to get ya a new toy! My wife is awesome to support my firearms habits to. Enjoy your new weapon! You deserve it Bro!
Man i think i like what you have to say but your videos dont come across very well. They keep pausing every 3-seconds. I dont think its on my end because 90% of the others come in like im watching TV. Anyways good luck.
its not a "trigger job" as one would do on a wheel gun, its a direct parts replacement (sold by most stores like midwayusa etc..)using stock factory glock parts that are used on guns such as the 17L
Glock hands down is the most univeral pistol. It's affordable, easy to handle, replacement parts are plentyful, inexpesive, and easy to do yourself. A very ugly, uncomfortable to hold, yet still you gain so much more in capability. You just have to get use to it until Glock decides to listen to there consumers. Recoil is not bad at all...infact better then XD/XDM's.
Congratulations on the promotion. Don't discount the stock guide rod and spring. The plastic is actually made to flex with the frame on recoil. I've read and seen pictures of stainless guide rods rubbing the frame from high round usage. The recoil springs are rated for 3000 rounds and if they do wear the stock replacement is very cheap.
for me i think atleast 4 guns would be ideal.a handgun 9mm,40cal,or 45.a shotgun,a mid to close range"ar15"or"ak47",and a long range in 308 or 300winmag.but thats just me.....
Great vids. I take your vids to heart. I wonder, with the substantial recoil you say it will have will your thumb bump the extended clip release and eject it? I ask cause I have an isreali .45 with an extended clip release and that happened to me. Lucky thing for me I could screw the extention on and off or it would almost make the pistol unshootable.
I was not aware you could convert a 40 cal to a 9mm. I have heard of a 40 to .357sig conversion. Are you sure about that?
Atvantage Arms conversion kit works well for my G19 and G17. Unless they changed the design, you will want to get Remington Golden bullets bulk at Walmart or the much more expensive CCI Minimags.
I also don't think you can shoot lead bullets through a stock Glock barrel. So watch those reloads.
Great news on the promotion! When you swap out barrels, do you need 9mm mags? I assume so, but you didn't say..One gun is all you need..the rest are like money in the bank.
I've got one Steve, and you are going to love it. Fair warning though, the recoil IS substantial. But the .40 S&W has always been the ballistic answer to the more sluggish .45. The tactical advantage with the smaller framed 23 is remarkable, with the right holsering system. Enjoy it brother. AND...you might think about some night sights, OR a lighting system if you are carrying for a self defense weapon. You would be statistically more likely to need it post evening hours.
Steve, could you give us your thoughts on the Glock's safety, 'Glock Leg' and all that? I'd like to know more, especially if you've had the trigger modified to be lighter. Not knocking Glocks, I currently use an XDm and feel very comfortable transferring it from a holster to under the car seat to the glove box and then to a jacket pocket. A Glock would have me a tad nervous I suppose. Please enlighten, thanks. Nice video.
Congrats on the promotion and congrats on the new Glock. Somehow I don't think your wife had to do all that much work to drag you to the gun store. LOL
oh steve, steve steve.I dont know what it is about a Glock but I pick it up and I just wanna put it back down. Looked at a few today at a local gunshow. But great video, congrats on the promo.
Congratulations on your promotion. Do not waste your money on a stainless recoil sping assembly. I have 2, total waste. If Glock had thought a metal recoil spring assembly was the way to go he would have put it in there, The metal will not flex. Your additions are all that is needed, besides night sights. Please save your money, buy some ammo.
I also have both XDs and Glocks. I really like the ergonomics of the XD but one thing is for sure on the G23, never had a ftf or fte. Out of several k rounds! I have an IWB holster for my G27 but have found it is a bit bulky. The mods on your G23 are right on, diff on one of my G23s are night sights. If you go that route, be sure to look into an adjustable rear sight. GL
Ya know I would really like to post pictures of my guns and review some of them but I'm always afraid that it could have negative consequences. I don't like people in my area knowing I have guns especially not people at work. That and if there was a government ban on guns i wouldn't want evidence.
I have a Beretta 40 and a Glock 40 . The Glock is superior . Congrats on the new weapon. It will end up being your favorite handgun. I have 7 different handguns and my Glock is my Fav.
congrats on your newly acquired Glock. i have a Glock 22C, Glock 27, Baby desert eagle in .40S&W, and my trusty Ruger LCP .380.. i really like both my Glocks, both with the extended controls and 3.5Lbs trigger connectors. I noticed quite a bit more recoil with the 27, but still manageable and comfortable to shoot. where as with my 22C, the compensated model has very little recoil compared to other .40S&W models that i have shot.
i had the g22 had it for 5 years.i ended up trading it to the owner of a gun shop i used to go to.traded that and my dads takorov real good shape the guy wanted the tak really bad for his own collection. even trade for his new stag arms ar15 loaded with flipup front/rear sites + daniel rail system with viltor stock 7 mags and a couple other things he threw in too.
