u can get a water based colour paint instead of testors paint with thinner because thinner gives a pungent smell , u dont need thinner for water based colour paint.

before you paint it use the pre coat of the kind of stuff witch makes it stck and after use gloss at least use 1 and it wont do it

when you pick the paint materials, do avoid those that erodes the plastic, making it fragile, this happens alot to repaint toys.

No, it does what it says, thins paint. Used for acrylics and enamels so they spread easier. And more even coats.

Nice vid.

A thing I like to do myself is to get a soldering wand and use it to give cleaner battle damage. Also gives a nice burned out effect on larger holes since it actually melts the plastic.

Also for carving I with something like a dremel I'd use a flexible steel ruler just to help with angular lines.

The soldering iron won't stick to plastic, so you would have to melt it and form it on something flat but that won't melt from the heat. Then just tap it off and glue it to the figure.

That would make it look like the area has truley been burned. really nice idea you had, I'll have to try it myself.

@stopmotionjr i doubt that it could do that seeing as how it will melt the plastic, but wut you can do is paint a black or gray blotch on the figure, then put a tiny bit of thinner on a cotton ball and make it so that the seges of the spot fade into the plastic and try to make it look like a burn mark

You could try some white glue on the ball and socket joints. works for me on Gundam figures.

- Put some white glue on the socket, and ball joint.

- Put the joint together and leave to dry.

- After its dried, wiggle the joint, and wahlah, tighter joint!

If it doubt the method, don't try it. :]

Remember, don't use super glue. You don't want a figure to be forever stiff like frozen megatron.

I've got a tip for you. Mix India Ink with alcohol. Brush the ink through the scars. The alcahol evaporates and the black stays in the cracks. It looks awesome. Spread sparingly and wipe off excess with a tissue!!
