constantly "ba-ba".. does that mean that my ears are too good? or maybe my eyes are too bad.. or - oh my god! - maybe my brain doesn't function properly!
this video works better than some of the others out there. the key is keeping the mouth open a bit, the way you would if you were actually articulating 'ga, ga, ga.' when the mouth is closed between, it starts to look more like 'ba,' and the effect is reduced. i just think it's funny if you happen to blink for the first sound, and then you hear ba, then you open your eyes and you're really confused....
I have the same... maybe our brain doesn't mix the two different stimuli or we have one that primes the other.... I have the same question, will post it on my study board (studying this right now) and see if anyone else has the same ^__^
p.s. they always take nice guys for the experiment.. ;-) kewl!!!!
Well maybe you are part of the two percent. I think it is also training, sounddesigners for example seem not to mix image and sound so much as other people. Besides, recently i produced a new version with the first sound replaced with one that fits better, so maybe its that first sound that make people fall out of the frame.

Weird this one sounds like he is saying dba dba dba dba dba, like, the sounds are overlapping! Eyes closed it is ba ba ba ba ba clear as a bell.

I find that it works better when I concentrate on the mouth of the speaker. Just watching his face doesn't seem to do it for me.

It doesn't work for everybody. For American adults though, about 98% get it.

Maybe. It could be our brains perceive differently from the norm for some reason.
