Im amased at the foolishness of teachers claiming to know that the "covenant" is an "Abrahamic".Hebrews tells us that there is one covenant-The New and better One. The old one is gone. There is only a promise to all in the new one. Dan ch 9's covenant is "Confirmed" meaning that it already existed! It happen after the commandment to restore Jerusalem-U.N. res 181.= november 29 1947+62 shavuots =2009. this is the last shabuwa (7). so which leader swore to uphlod a covenant before many people?
@goldmakers As you read below you will realize that in order to break a covenant in the middle of the seven year period it must have been confirmed in the beginning. This prophecy does not have to involve Israel. No where does it say Israel! Dan ch 12 describes the covenant as a "Holy". That means that it must involve God as the central figure in the covenant and that He is declared as the giver in it. The little horn breaks it by denying the people their God given rights, and oppresses them.
How does Messiah confirm a covenant with "many" for one week after he has been "cut off?" The "he" has to refer to the "prince who is to come," the antecedent in the text. Think of it this way... If you were to read a news story that said: "The police officer fired his pistol at the assailant, who ran and hid in an alley. Then he took out his cell phone and called his mother." Who took out the cell phone? The assailant--the antecedent in this story. See the error of "he" meaning Messiah?

I watched this the first time about a month ago.....and can't shake it. I REALLY need to talk to someone and I have NO one in my life who believes this way. The bible does not tell us when the Great tribulation will begin! No one will ever be able to tell you that. But the bible does give us alot of detail as to what the Great tribulation is and what will happen. By the way the reason you cannot know the "day" is based on the two witnesses who are looking for the new moon which begins the feast of trumpets. The snare mentioned in Luke 21:35 is the DAY of His return, not what is mentioned or as you say, interpreted in Daniel 9:27. You just cannot pull out any one verse and have it take the meaning you desire. This is not of God! Just look at the previous verse: "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares." THIS is the snare - that one is not prepared for Jesus.
I disagree that a calendar of 365.255 days in a year would have been used. The calendar used up through to the fulfillment of the prophecy was a calendar of 360 day years. I also disagree the prophecy was pointing to the baptism of Christ simply on the grounds of the word "anointed". Rather, the "anointed" was understood to be a reference to king. And thus the prophecy was pointing to when Jesus presented himself as KING and MESSIAH in the very rebuilt CITY spoken of in that very prophecy.

@RogVMax The Messiah was "cut off" after "seven weeks & sixty two weeks". (Cut-off = KILLED) 69 weeks = 483 years. The anitchrist will start his mission when Jesus opens the 1st Seal in Revelation 6. After 3 1/2 years, Revelation 13 is then started. The antichrist will start his worldly slaughter & hatred against all Jews & Christians (those who missed the Rapture). Christ's Great Tribulation starts in Revelation 6 and ends when All the Raptured Saints return WITH Jesus in Revelation 19:7-15.
I too used to think that "he" in Dan 9:27 was the antichrist. Now I feel the other is true, but I'm still studying. I opened my Scofield and it said "he" was the antichrist, my Thompson just had several verses listed to the side...Romans 15:8, Ga. 3:17, Heb. 10:4-22, and another KJV had Is. 42:6 and Matt. 26:28. Christ's earthly ministry wasn't 3 or 31/2 years. That is a man-made construction. The King James translators renamed the Jewish feasts as "Passover" to agree with Catholic doctrine of 3 1/2 year ministry. Check it out and you'll see that it's only about a year, maybe a year and 1/2 that He ministered... so this isn't true. Also Revelation and Daniel both clearly state that there are two 1260 days halves of the 7 year tribulation. 'Nuff said. It's black and white - why change that?

Since His ministry started prior to the first Passover, we have an additional portion which brings the total to approximately 3-l/2 years: #1= Jn 2:13, 23, #2= Jn 4:35, #3= Jn 6:4, and #4= Jn 11:55. Also, Daniel & Revelation both record ONLY a 3 1/2 year "time of tribulation" still future! Don't you think it's strange the bible doesn't SAY a "7-YEAR" or "2520 DAY" future tribulation period??

But the bible does give us alot of detail as to what the Great tribulation is and what will happen.
