You should try the demo. It can be downloaded at taleworlds 'dot' com. The demo is the full game with a level cap. It's called: Mount & Blade: Warband.

The vikings did fight in formation, one of the most famous one is the "Svinfylking" it's a triangular shape, good against mounted soldiers. Btw. it's was the "Asynjorna" who decided who would live and who would die in battle, then the Valkyries picked the souls of the choosen ones and took ém to Valhalla. Hell Norden!

One fun fact about Vikings.

Vikings didn't care to run or hide, their religion made it so, that they couldn't prevent their fate. If they were going to die on the battlefield they couldn't do anything about it in the first place, so why not just rush in if you can't control your own fate :P That's pretty much what made us hardcore.

Not really. Norway was normally separated from Denmark. The Norwegians did most of the invasions at the end of the Viking age and a lot of raiding. Sweden explored and raided Slavic lands to the east and set up the foundations of Russia.

Viking Raiders is an old, unfinished mod. There are better mods out there taking place in Britain, like: Britain at War or Britain 1297 or Britainnia 1080.

They are all for version 1.010/1.011
