  • Hi there Stukadriver! I was wondering what the construction of the aircraft is, also what engine is mounted? Are you aware of any plans commercially available for prospective builders? Thanks for sharing your very unique machine with us.

  • @SnoDawgNZ

The construction plans were drawn up by Louis Langhurst in the 1970s and I think it borrows a lot of components from the PT-19 aircraft. I don't know if the plans are still available, but you can start looking for them using his name.

  • @SnoDawgNZ Louis never really did construction drawings per se. I do have schematics that an experienced builder could probably use to build most all of the components of the aircraft, but no drawings that detail, for example, the engine mounts, electrical, or guages. He did write up a "Builder's Guide" which has some good details as well. "FiveCentsPlease" is correct that the landing gear and flight controls are from the PT-19. I would upgrade the braking system, though.

  • @Stukadriver Thanks for the info, Stukadriver! I will have to try and hunt down the Builder's Guide.

  • Almost a great video... Is there any cockpit footage of this Stuka dive bomber in the classic Stuka trade mark 70 degree dive, sirens wailing?

  • @bennyc333 No...not yet.

  • What a lovely thing to own o.o

  • @jimmyxx3 Yes...quite a unique machine. Thanks.

  • Its awesome....have you a video from outside with this attack?

I think its nice to hear it better the "Jericho Sirene"

sorry for my bad english but i hope you have it understand!

  • @Falke40lg Your English is very good. I think there is video from the outside. Perhaps on the Collings Foundation WWII Weekend videos. But I do not have any. Thanks for the note.

  • @Falke40lg There are videos from the outside. Check "Collings Foundation History Weekend" I was in their show a few times.

  • Hammer Geil!!! Very good!

  • @Bunkerwurm Danke

  • what are music 2:10? :OO

  • @peepertti I think it is a combination of Luftwaffe songs... One is the "Stuka Lied".

  • debilu i gdzie tu widać uderzenie wykonane kurwa zajebana

  • so this is a reproduction in small a smaller scale?

  • @pongboy1100

7/10 scale flying Ju-87B replica, most likely derived from the plans drawn by Louis Langhurst in the 1970s. Not exact, but very convincing in a smaller scale.

  • 0:16 250 kg bomb ... NO ¬¬

  • Hello, it's me again, Hey I'm considering building a stuka siren myself for my Yak (I know not hystorically accurate, but intersting), do you have alist of componenets?

    How did you install it?

    Regards, Javier

  • @javiercarrascob Sorry that I cannot be of much help here. I searched for a siren that could have been historically accurate and came up with nothing suitable. The closest I could get were civil defense sirens and they would not work well. So I settled for electric sirens mounted on the belly.

  • @FuchsUndRabe While I can accept your sensitivity to the hakenkreutz, I am a bit insulted that you imply that I am stupid. You do not know me...if you did, you might find that I am not stupid. The history of every country has shameful events. After 66 years, it seems that it is time to be a bit more objective. Even Custer's Last Stand is being revealed to be an attempted massacre of an Indian village by US troops. That was then...this is now.

  • @Stukadriver

I'm an RAF technician and I fly an r/c ME 109, a nice aircraft is a nice aircraft no matter it's nationality. It's people who are evil, not the metal. History needs to be remembered so it's not repeated and you doing a fine job of that.

  • @mickthemardy You sound like a very well grounded person. Thanks.

  • @FuchsUndRabe nice spelling

  • @FuchsUndRabe yea you prolly would have preferred rainbow's and hippie sign's. douche bag

  • @FuchsUndRabe The swastika is a big taboo forever; but the the sign is from ancient times. And Hitler misused it. imagine if Hitler had chosen the christian cross for his flag...

  • @FuchsUndRabe

    Hakenkreuz!

  • The bombs are not, of course, real...although sometimes I wish they were.

  • @Stukadriver ha ha good comment awesome vid snd many happy flights to you

  • @Stukadriver Yea, you could drop one on the idiot who wined about the Hakenkreuze. What a troll. he most likely believes the malarky about the Third Reich and gas chambers, What anidiot. BTW, since it is a 7/10 model does that mean some gauges had to be left out for lack of room in the cockpit?

  • @germanysjim Yes, some guages had to be left out...I have seen the instrument cluster in a real StuKa, and what I have is extremely sparce in comparison.

  • Nice. Are those bombs genuine?

  • close the canopy!!!!!!!!

  • @tim06291971

It was a 90 degree day with high humidity...the noise was secondary to passing out from the heat.

  • Baby Stuka^^ Aber trotzedem toll.

  • Was für Motoren waren da verbaut BMW Maybach oder sowas? 47 Liter Hubraum mindestens tolles Teil

  • @Reinstein200

Junkers JUMO 900 bhp zu 1300 bhp

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!

  • wasn't it a 500kg Bomb??

  • @klospue

They did sometimes mount a centerline 500kg bomb. However, when they did, the guy in back would stay home due to weight and balance problems. Usually, the bomb load was a 250kg centerline with 50 kg's on the wing hard points.

  • @Stukadriver well most the time they had 500kg bomb and the gunner but no 50kg bombs

  • @klospue

I avoid debates a well as I can. But...a 500kg bomb approximates a 1,000 pounder. That was not a typical bomb load. Classic loads were 250kg bomb centerline and four 50 kg bombs...two on each wing. The JU87 was an underpowered machine at first and never really had a powerplant that would allow 1,000 pounds loads to be used as a rule with full crew. Yes...they did drop that size load on very hard targets as well as on shipping...but their role as infantry support was a smaller load.

  • @Stukadriver you're right. the b2 was underpowered but the later d3 and d5 versions had a stronger engine and could carry the 500kg bomb without any problems. But the 250kg + 4 50kg loadout was used more often because the 500kg bomb was against heavy armored targets like ships or bunkers.

  • @Stukadriver can you dive bomb, I mean can you do it safty

because i would like to hear them air breaks roar once more :)

  • DO YOU KNOW HOW DEADLY A STUKA IS?

  • just love the Stuka , good dive bomber and fierce dog-fighter with a good pilot at the controls

  • Who cares about the critics. Its like the A10 warthog today, not the prettiest looking plane but deadly in its designed purpose. Does this aircraft have the siren to reenact the stukas ground attack? That would be a great draw at airshows.

  • @MegaWolfgang I agree completely. Critics are everywhere these days...critical of everything. I do have two electric sirens on it. They are very loud...I do not know what it sounds like on the ground, but I am sure not the way the siren lore is depicted in the movies.

  • Hello, I have always thought the Stuka had great lines. I have a couple questions about flying it. 1. Does the leading and trailing edge (flaps?) work? 2, What is the stall speed and cruise speed? Perhaps you know how they compare to a full sized original Stuka?

I have often thought perhaps this aircraft had some STOL ability. Thanks so much for posting your aircraft. I miss flying sometimes, but alas after 40 years I sold mine and stopped. Was not staying ahead of the aircraft very well...lol

  • @michaelpilot1000 The flaps cannot be activated. I have ailerons, rudder and elevator control. The dive brakes are also fixed. The stall speed is about 60 knots, cruise on a calm day is around 115 knots. I do not know exactly how it compares to the full size JU87B2's...but Oberst Hans Rudel, who flew in it in 1980, said it handled just like the "real" ones. It probably does have STOL capability. From my research, they landed and took off from some pretty primitive, short runways.

  • I WANT THIS.

  • 18 people have there grand fathers pilot in the RAF !

  • Political correctness be damned, I've always thought the Ju-87 was an elegant bird. I'd love to take that dude up for a spin. Great video, you have fun with that thing.

  • 7/10 scale but whos care u can barley tell

  • sweet!

    a very beautifull machine!!

    greetings!

  • 17 peoples are Allys ;P

  • @HartsocKGER

Oh...I see what you mean. 17 dislikes...well...some people like to think their world view is correct. I am not making any political statements with this video...it is a flight video. If people like aircraft and the thrill of flying, they tend to like this video. Just sharing an experience.

  • YOU RE-PRODUCED ALL BY YOURSELF THAT PLANE ?

GOOD JOB MAN , CAN I HAVE ONE ? LOL

  • What are you using for power, and what's the performance like?

  • @hangarrat101

It has a Lycoming GO-435-B engine. Performance is very good. 1,000 ft/min climb easily. Very good handling. Rudel said it handled like the real thing.

  • hello, what is the MTOW of this aircraft? (if it can be up to 650kg as an ultralight)

    Greetings from the Czech Republic!

  • @JohnyE007

Not sure...it's empty weight is about 2200 lbs...max is about 3000 lbs...but i will have to check the manual. Sorry...I do not memorize these things.

  • @Stukadriver

ok, that's a good weight to a 1/1 replica, doest the aircraft has a combine structure of wood and metal?

  • @JohnyE007

It is all metal. Steel tube frame, aluminum skin.

  • @Stukadriver

I would like to fly that aircraft!

  • holy shit... is das ne echte stuka???

    is that a REAL stuka???

    i can't belive..

  • @Nebelkrieg

Replica - built to scale after a Stuka that is in the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, Ill. USA

  • @Nebelkrieg

No, 7/10 scale replica. I believe that a handful were built from plans but I don't know how many still fly.

There are no flying Stukas and little chance of that in the immediate future from lack of usable survivors and missing original engineering drawings. Perhaps one day.

  • if one day come to Brazil, will be welcomed with open arms

  • @julianosantos6685

Brasil is a beautiful country. I hope to someday mke a trip to your wonderful land. Sincere regards to you and your loved ones.

  • thanks friend, the translation was by google. hug

  • I am in love with airplanes. mainly aircraft ww2. My favorite is the stuka. here in Brazil does not have many combat aircraft, only the Super Tucano. Embraer. friend hug

  • @julianosantos6685

That's great! The StuKa is a very unique aircraft. I am glad you like it. All the best to you and your Kamerads in Brazil.

  • I love the stuka.

  • I love the stuka. My dream is to touch it and get into the cabin. My favorite plane is sorry that I'm from Brazil. congratulations on your aircraft.

    ( Brasil )

  • @julianosantos6685

    Sorry...can you translate into English?

  • Did you put the siren system in the plane as well?

  • @javiercarrascob I could not find sirens like the original Stukas, but I did install two electronic sirens.

  • Isn't this scaled down?

  • @larsulrich3356

    yes...7/10 scale

  • just the USA flag on the tail...not great....but congratulations for the stuca...

i know it is hard but, you cold film a 90° dive

  • Check out the great description of a Stuka attack in Greece... See my youtube profile or search for the new novel GETTYSBURG OTHER TIMES

  • whats its jagdswader?

  • @erwin887

    St.G.2 - Immelman - 1st Staffel

    StukaGeschwader - not fighter.

  • @Stukadriver sorry to fast

  • @erwin887

a jagdgeschwader is a grupe of fighting airplanes

    its a german word

  • Stukadriver How much for a ride in the Stuka ? :))

  • did this happen in an airshow because at 7:22 this is similar with another video called Air show, Colling Inst.

  • @LuckyBolt100

Yes. That part was over the Collings event. Good eye!

  • @Stukadriver thanks

  • Slovak air force WW II marking (fighting on Nazis side at eastern front) - double cross on three hills on the engine cover. Great to see that Stuka is still flying.

  • Is this a scale replica or the real deal? Lovely either way. And wow i bet your popular with the locals haha. :) Where do you come from?

  • Why did some German aircraft sport Iron Crosses while others displayed Nazi Swastikas? What was the meaning imparted by their separate uses?

  • @1955thekeeper Not known why some had the Balkenkreuz and not the Hakenkreuz...not sure if that was the case...could be field repairs/modifications. There were many times when Luft personnel did not strictly conform. I do not think the ommission of the Hakenkreuz was a statement of party affiliation or not.

  • @Stukadriver Vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort. Und Ihre nationale Herkunft ist? If my grammar is incorrect, please forgive me for I am trying to learn German. I thought I read somewhere that the Officers of the Luftwaffe were not allowed to become part of the Nazi Party for some reason(s). At first, I only saw Hakenkreuz on aircraft which were used for troop or supply transport while Balkenkreuz were used on actual combat aircraft. Toward the end of the war there seemed to be more Hakenkreuz used.

  • @1955thekeeper Ich bin ein Amerikaner/Amerikanische...whatever...

Anyway, from my research, I have concluded that many pilots in the Luftwaffe were members of the National Socialist Party. I know people will argue that, even to the extent of saying that Goering was not a member...that is wrong. There are many pictures of Luftwaffe pilots/officers wearing the NAZI party medal. Usually, the "iron cross was on the wings and fuselage while the swaztika was on the rudder. Always exceptions.

  • @Stukadriver Thank you for your kind reply. As I have tried to research the issue myself, I have found many conflicting suppositions from military and non-military historians. As disciplined as the German (Nazi) Military appeared to be, much of their personal dealings and heritage appeared to be made up as they went along or were the occultist well wishes of highly egocentric departmental ideologues. At the end of the war, the standards seemed to break down to a front line expediency.

  • @1955thekeeper I agree with much of your impression. As time goes by and new unbiased information becomes available, the picture of the rigid German war machine becomes more blurred. As does the image of the political leaders knowing exactly what was going on in their realm. The power of the ego is usually underestimated.

  • @Stukadriver I know what you speak of. AH developed a subordinate system which was doomed to failure. He allowed too many similar departments which had un-determined goals to exist and were headed by sycophant men who simply wished to court his favor. All the in fighting and jealously created by this system blurred the lines of command. This design was borne out of AH insecurities concerning a possible coup d'état from his command staff. His concern was warranted. Night of the long knives.

  • Is that the Slovak crest I see on the front of the plane? It's like the Slovak crest with the colors reversed. Does anyone know the reason for that?

  • @nflfabfonz It is a Slovak crest. Colors are reversed? In what way? This crest is the same as shown on many pictures and paintings of Rudel's JU87B2 - T6+AD. Rudel himself saw this aircraft and said it was exact.

  • @Stukadriver He's right about the crest. It's supposed to be red sky and blue mountains. The plane is awsome either way though.

  • @Master7770 Very interesting...thanks. Will look into this.

  • @nflfabfonz the sky is supposed to be red and the mountains are blue. I even asked some Slovak friends if the crest used to be reversed and they said no

  • @nflfabfonz I looked up the crest you mention as a Slovak symbol. Yes...very similar, but I think this shield or crest on Rudel's aircraft is Hungarian or Rumanian. Would that be different from the Slovak designs?

  • @Stukadriver I tink it's Romanian.

  • I want one lol

  • Amazing!!! Where is this plane?

  • how much is a replica of those?

  • @Macclowack There are no production models going around. You have to build one or have it built and it is more expensive than the average joe could afford. There are a few places that offer scaled down warbird plans. My uncle actually owns a hanger/shop in Alaska and the proppeller alone on one of his planes costed 10 thousand US dollars.

  • You just killed yourself on those bombing runs dropped that 250kg.

  • @naval8viator

    Still breathing...delayed fuses...

  • @Stukadriver

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir but if I recall, min release alt was 500m and then you needed to pullout.

In any event, you have a beautiful aircraft, and it would be amazing if you could aquire (or have built) the Jerico Trumpet above the cowling.

Have you tried diving at a 70 degree dive angle? Is your Ju87 equipped with an auto-pullout mechanism? So many questions--such a wonderful (although wonderful is very relative) piece of history.

  • @naval8viator

Thanks. You are correct in the altitude. Auto pullout was usually set for that altitude. Many of the pilots did not care for that mechanism, though. I have no auto set...my "Jericho Trumpets" are electric sirens, alas...my search for replica sirens has not been successful...and they were mounted on the wheel spats...60 degrees is the most I have done. It's nice to have people appreciate the aircraft. Thank you.

  • What is the name of that song in the background in this videoclip ?

  • @MeBest777

I think there are two songs. One is the "Stuka Lied" and the other is the Luftwaffe Theme (I think...it's been a while since I did the video.)

  • @Stukadriver

Which motor did u use for the replica and where did you get all the rare parts for this unique plane?

    Thanks a lot!

And by the way: Insane great job! Beautiful!

    Regards from Germany

  • @xsaab93x

Not sure if my answer got to you. It is a Lycoming GO-435-B model engine built just after WWII. Most parts are scratch built excepting KG-13 control stick, landing gear and other control parts.

Thanks for your kind words. All my best to you and your countrymen.

  • How did you acquire this airplane? I'm assuming you built it... Where did you get the design?

  • @ctman6969

Louis Langhurst built it in 1979. I bought it from the second owner in 2004. Louis designed/fabricated/built the aircraft from scratch based upon the Stuka in the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

  • HAKENKREUZ HAKENKREUZ die wird jetzt indiziert!!!!

  • today in 2010 it sucks to be pilot(military pilot) cuz you drive lame planes f-18 mig-29 are LaME comparing to stuka. and air combat also sucks ,today all depends on technology so f-18 in combat will beat mig-21,cuz it s more equiped and has more technology in it just launch rocket and Bang!, but not in ww2 there were bullets only and victory depends on pilot s skill.

    peace!

  • I like, it was hard to hear with your windows open lol.... But do you have the Jericho Sirens equipped on that model stuka?

  • @corsair92688

Yes...well not like originals which i cannot find...I use electronic sirens.

Kann man da mal Life zuschauen beim fliegen?

    gruss

  • @KrissSarolf

Thanks for enjoying part of the video. I agree, the noise is loud...but the motor stacks are only about five feet from the edge of the cockpit and the wind noise is loud when the cockpit is open.

    Regards.

  • nice video C:

    stukas are the best :>

  • You i can get that stuka.

Look dam fun to fly and bomb :D

  • Can I have this for Free? :P

  • @TheGRANDMAZTA

  • Interesting video...would have been nice to see some accompaniment footage from the ground target area.

  • lol that guy in the truck must've been like

    "what the hell?"

  • Did anyone else see the american flag on that plane.

  • Great one! I hope some day full-size stuka flies again! Greetings from Serbia.

  • Thanks. I agree...time for the Stuka to be resurrected.

  • @ Stukadriver

    150 . s-ar1.arweb . at / JG53 / s4a . htm

  • Danke. Das ist gute Information.

  • @Stukadriver

  • Okay...you have your experts and I have mine.

  • heh,..this Stuka bombed your Capital in 41 ..

  • Wow! I would give my right nut to see that in the flesh !

  • The swastica is one of the best additions to the plane and it would not be right without it. This is an awsome plane

  • @surfthecoochie1 said like a true nazi

  • She's a beaut Mitch.

  • Thanks, Jeremy.

  • Dude where'd you get it. I want to fly one of those. I got a LARGE lawn and I can dive bomb over it.

  • Sieg Heil

  • best fightplane ever

  • all in that video is really fantastic, Congratulations!!!!

  • Very kind of you. Sehr Danke.

  • Wow a real restored Stuka.Such a nice aircraft!

  • Please read earlier posts. I am compelled to tell you that this is a replica StuKa. Although Oberst Hans Rudel flew in it and said it flew like the real thing...but nice not being shot at!

  • very good video, except for the annoying engine noise

  • Yeah...damn engine noise...

  • i am so gelous.i would give all in world just to drive in stuka.

  • this has to be one of the greatest vids on you tube! thank you for showing off your plane

  • Wow...thanks very much!

  • stukas !!!!! forever !!!!!
