yes this song is great, my grandfather was one of the singers, he sang with his relatives, and he made the Korean War Song for his sons, my uncles. we are closely related to the Iron Clouds, we are from Wanbli-Hopi.
my grand parents or just my grand father was fighting at the little bighorn. @wiyakaziwicasa this song was made for my great-great grand father Chief Iron Cloud and was made back in the mid-1900,s by William Horn Cloud, you could hear the name Mahpiya Maza in the song, the song says to keep your lakota ways, red clouds version says to take the white mans ways an red cloud never took part in the battle of little big horn.

@ThePeckerwood310 HaHaHaHa! Pissed ya off didn't I. What a tool, you removed all doubt son. Hey! I have question for you, it's going to require thought, so don't hurt yourself. Here's the Q ( Do you believe in Jesus Christ ? ) if so, why? I'm really seriously thinking about calling you my friend. I think there may be more to you than just being a hater. You see P, I think I will refer to you as P from here on out. All that hate is doing you more harm than the people you are hating on. KIT
@ThePeckerwood310 Hey P, what up dog! Have you ever in your life considered how couragous a person must be to believe in and live for Jesus, trust me it is not for the weak, alot of people can't handle the persecution and pressure, they give up, or walk away from HIM. I bet if you challenged 10 people to just stand on a street corner and hold a Bible over their head in their hand, so passerbys could see what they had in their hand, you might get 1 couragous enough to do it. KIT <keep in touch
@ThePeckerwood310 Whether you believe in Him or not does not make Him any less real P, fact is He believes in you. I will admit P, I don't believe in a smelly brown god either, so we have that in common bro. GTG You have blessed week P, look forward to your next post.....
@ThePeckerwood310 Alot of people never find Him, because they are looking in the wrong places. Man! P if you ever experienced the things I have with Him, you would be tryin to get all your friends to come to Him. I've seen miracles, all ya got to do is ask Him to prove to you He's real, He likes a good challenge, and when He shows ya He's real, you can't help but tell others, He changes hearts and lives. Don't let fear keep ya from seeking Him. I said it takes alot of courage, a lions heart.
@ThePeckerwood310 I have come to realize that true folowers of Christ would never have done what the catholic church and a few other denominations did in the name of God, this land was rich, so greed was what drove the conflicts. I would never force anyone to believe my way, I am responsible to tell you about salvation in Christ, but it's up to you whether to accept His salvation or reject it. He is not going to force you to serve Him, we do it willingly, its not an easy life but its worth it.
@ThePeckerwood310 The reason we believe in the lord Jesus christ is because of all the evil and destruction the white man brought us it is all worth it knowing that with it they brought our savior. So we have not suffered in vain. All happens for a reason.
The 7th Cavalry was entrapped the day after the Wounded Knee Massacre. The 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers rescued the 7th Cavalry.
Read the novel, Rescue at Pine ridge, the story of the rescue of the famed 7th Cavalry by the Buffalo Soldiers, and visit website; rescue at pine ridge. com. At the end of the song, they show a picture of Crazy Horse. Its a fact that there was never a picture found of Crazy Horse. Never a authentic picture of the great warrior and Chief.
@dad2ujunior Just stating the facts. Who knows who that is. Have you ever took courses in Native American history? Well, I have and it is a fact that a picture was never found.
@Derek4Real2 Your probably right.Have you ever seen crazy horse? Have you ever even been to a sweat?Well, some people are actually native and probably could trace the ancestors to crazy horse if researched. I am just saying who's face goes on the memmorial.
@dad2ujunior Your right! Some of US are Native! I know more about OUR PEOPLE than you ever will! Dont judge a book by its cover brother. Have you ever been to a sweat? Tell me some facts about ancestors?
@Derek4Real2 So there is no photographs of crazy horse at all? Or the last photograph was just not crazy horse? If it's true that there are no photos of crazy horse to exist.I havw learned a interesting fact.Thanks.
Les indiens sont le plus beau témoignage de fierté , de courage et de tragédie.... en éspérant qu'ils soient plus considéré dans les années à venir... on peut toujours rêver...
Many people don't know, but Crazy Horse had a scar near his right cheek bone from a bullet wound. I don't think that this is a photo of him, and I don't think that a photo of him exists. Honestly, I would prefer that Crazy Horse remains a mystery.
The name "Sioux" is an abbreviated form of Nadouessioux borrowed into French Canadian from Nadoüessioüak from the early Odawa exonym: naadowesiwag "Sioux".[8] It was first used by Jean Nicolet in 1640. The Proto-Algonquian form *na·towe·wa, meaning "Northern Iroquoian", has reflexes in several daughter languages that refer to a small rattlesnake .
We were given the name Sioux it was what they called us for being different.. I am Lakota, not sioux... I did like the song..Blessings my Friend.
Wow, this is cool! I just finished reading "Crazy Horse" by Mari Sandoz for researching my next book. It was great to see these pics for many were in the book. There's a lot of controversy regarding Crazy Horse's pic. Many say he wouldn't have a likeness made of him but from how the book describes him it looks like it could be. He was a war chief and was thought to be made chief over all the Oglala sioux before his death caused by lies told.
@39chucky If you read my post I mentioned there was controversy over the picture and over his "Chiefness". He was a war chief which only means he led several groups to battle but he was also a "Shirtwearer" until Red Cloud stripped him of his title due to jealousy. (also a controversial subject as was his death)
@WhiteStarWoman crazy horse never wanted to be a chief he was a warrior he never put his self above his people plus he never had a photo he thought it would capture his spirit.
There's a reminder of that famous film Dr Zhivago, there...But nice name. Terrible what the States (And Europeans) did to your people. I am one for you getting back your lands...
@deldred69 Good luck with that. I'm mostly N.A. and I'm glad we progressed this nation. I'm one to speak for my people and say we are not ashamed of you and do not hold grudges or hatred for the people in this country, despite what happened in the past.
its a grainy photo. even a big scar would be hard to make out. it could be him. the right side of his lower lip seems to have a mark on it. that dark spot. a nick from the bullet?? .......ps: the photo could be from one of the huge treaty negotiation gatherings?
I am Lakota from the Cheyenne River Reservation....I come from the CLown, Red Bird, Stricker, Long Mandan, Did Not Go Home families. I am a direct descdendant of Red Cloud, whose daughter married Did Not Go Home, and a direct descendant of Jilia Iron Cedar Clown, Sister of Crazy Horse, I carry one of his names, Tasunka Wanyankapi, which was given to me by my Grandfather Elgin Stricker's last breath, passing his own name on to me before he died.
@itaycha Being red clouds decendent is nothing to be proud of im from wounded knee and live on pine ridge rez and everyone wants 2 be related to crazy horse but no one is his line is gone ask in sweat the grandfathers will tell u
There was a supposed picture of him, but people really don't know if it really was him or not. I don't think it was him because Crazy Horse had a scar from a bullet that hit him in the jaw, but there is no scar there.

SaintEbba 2 years ago

I am a direct descdendant of Red Cloud, whose daughter married Did Not Go Home, and a direct descendant of Jilia Iron Cedar Clown, Sister of Crazy Horse, I carry one of his names, Tasunka Wanyankapi, which was given to me by my Grandfather Elgin Stricker's last breath, passing his own name on to me before he died.

in the last picture why do they have a picture labeled crazy horse when he never let him self be photographed?
nikeairraid92 3 years ago
There was a supposed picture of him, but people really don't know if it really was him or not. I don't think it was him because Crazy Horse had a scar from a bullet that hit him in the jaw, but there is no scar there.
