he didnt in this case. What I do know is that he doesnt care about lyrics too much. He sees his voice as an instrument, the phonetic sounds should match the song. I do posses other recordings where he messes up the lyrics or melodies. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not...
But it really seemed to me like he did! Well, ok. I know, I should concentrate more on ~listening~ and not only on ~staring at him~ like a lovesick fangirl. I'll try to be more observant next time. Sorry =(
My point exactly. Sure, it'd be great to see what bands like Bungle and FNM could be doing today, but at the same time maybe it's for the best that we are forced to live with the legendary music that they created. You aswell, thanks :)
Well, I guess they ran out of ideas and just realised it was time. As far as i'm concerned some things need to end before they ruin themselves, you know?
I don't think Faith No More was truly Patton's "thing". Fantômas is probably the kind of music he just loves doing, as was Mr. Bungle at the time. Faith No More was more or less his.. income :/
Patton has integrity. Do you think he does something just to make money? If he did, every FNM album would sound the same and the band would have sold 30 million+ records.
FNM & Bungle were great becuase tension existed between band members, which resulted in some very interesting/exciting music.
Personally, I can't stand Fantomas, Peeping Tom and Tomahawk. I could listen to FNM & Bungle all day. At least both bands went out on a high.
I don't think FNM was all about money, but partially. Nobody can survive without it, and I think he was having much more fun with bungle at the time. I really like Fantomas and Tomahawk alot, and Peeping Tom quite a bit aswell - Fantomas especially.
Patton said himself during a Fantomas interview "This is probably the kind of music I'd want to be listening to" (or something similar). I think he loves the music Fantomas create, altough he definately had a good time with FNM.
Wow I like this version a lot, the sound is more effective. Its a shame they broke up before they came out with another live album. Hopefully one day they can get back together again. They are truly one of the most underrated bands ever.

That was a nice show on Sziget.

What's going on? He's sounding flat on the high notes in the verse. I mean it's brilliant apart from that but WTF?!
Orygyn 3 years ago
Because for all the acclaim Patton gets as a vocalist, he rarely matches up to his talents on record in a live setting
