Geewhiners are G1 purists. Bay didn't create them, they've been around sence Beast Wars. They basically hate all Transformers that aren't the original Transformers. The rest of Transformers fan have respect for the original while still being able to admit that it wasn't all that great. There were a few plot holes you could drive a truck threw.

@RialVestro Don't forget the crappy scripts at the begining. I remember when I saw the first three-part of season one. It was so stiff that my jaw actualy dropped in shock. It makes some of those other 'first' episodes,Beast Wars included,look amazing. >.<

Oh, how did he lie to them? Did he say they going to look EXACTLY like G1 with outdated alt. modes, mass shifting, and typical box-costume designs insted of looking like REAL robots? And FYI, the GeeWhiners actually go as far back as the '86 movie.

He lied by saying the story and characters would be heavily inspired by the cartoon (which they weren't), it would be about 70% JUST robots, no humans (which it wasn't), that they would look like real robots (which they didn't), and that he took out mass-shifting because it looked "silly", only to then apply it to almost EVERYTHING Cybertronian.

@YTsDarkKnight How would a G1 purist hate the 86 movie? That is still part of G1 you know. The first series to air after G1 is Beast Wars unless you want to count the Japanese series as well in which case it would be Headmasters.

@YTsDarkKnight There are elements of the movie and season 3 that fans hated like you said but that doesn't make them G1 purists. There are also elements that G1 Purists loved such as Ultra Magnus, Kup, Springer, and Arcee. There are also NON purists who hated the very same elements. Hating an aspect of something for a good reason doesn't make someone a G1er, hating it just for being different does. They didn't show up till the "Truck not Monkey" debates of Beast Wars.

No, these Predacons are looking to harvest Energon so that they'll have enough power to start a war that will destroy their Maximal oppressors.

Yes, that's what they did in the show, AND try to change history by killing G1 Optimus in stasis lock so the Autobots would lose The Great War, so it's only fair if the Movie Predicons do something similar but still have it tie in with the Movieverse, right?

Well, it is sort of tied in insofar as the Decepticons do ultimately lose to the Autobots, forcing the Predacons to play by the Maximals' rules, which leaves room for a crazy metal megalomaniac like BW Megatron to come along and try to stir things up again... I didn't really think to make any further connections than that.
