@hisladyluck Yeah you're absolutely right, I think judging by what he says in the video the show hadn't been going on for so long at the time. 'Cause looking at it now, Jane is all too serious about killing Red John, it's not as if he's with the CBI because he got nothing else to do. So maybe Simon Baker just saw it rather positive at first but later found out that the show really got that dark plot behind all the humor and lightheartedness.

You're right, the character isn't death because the actor is gone but I think it may be very difficult to find another actor with Heath's skills to play joker...
