Very cool to hear all the responses to this video...The camera makes it appear much lighter than it actually was...If Nadal hadn't broken when he did, this match would not have been completed that day...It was very dark and I don't doubt that Roger was having trouble seeing by this point...
@shirgen6 if you had just watched your son/husband/friend lose the biggest match of his life, how would you feel if the guy who beat him decided to climb up to where you're sitting and drip sweat all over you in celebration?
@butterflycaught900 Well I don't think anyone else thought of it like that. I mean, heaps of players have climbed up to their box after they won. Pat Cash, for example. They just want to celebrate this piece of history with those that helped them to it. And Federer's camp, to their credit, took it very well, and they shook hands, acknowledging it was a good match.
Besides, considering Rafa, I highly doubt he would've done it if he'd thought it would hurt Federer's camps' feelings.
@butterflycaught900 Imagine if federer cried at the trophy ceremony, then decided it was too 'hard' for him to read his pre-written speech. Wow, that would kinda make the winner feel more like a loser looking after a baby?...... oh wait, Federer did do that at the 2009 Australian Open.
@Cemedy im a compassionate guy, i forgive a lot for a guy on the losing end. i remember a couple of years ago when this AO09 'cry baby-gate' debate was raging, thinking to myself; wow, do rafa fans forget that their guy actually won the match? he was the won who got the trophy after smashing feds ego yet again, and they're complaining about the ceremony??
@Cemedy dude, it's very childish to say anything. people cry about important things to them. they dont give a fuck. they are millionaires. all of these tournaments and shit are a game to them. you're an idiot,.
greatest tennis moment ever!

can you imagine how arrogant everyone would call federer if HE had won and climbed into the players box?
butterflycaught900 1 year ago
@butterflycaught900 Why's climbing into the player's box arrogant?
