  • i could live on jerky for months to.

  • Part 2: (youtube won't let me put in a full link)

    youtube.com/watch?v=dfI0NKl-Kq0

  • does the anouncer in the meat market say alligator wax at 4:54 ?

  • only plant cells have cell walls.

  • @XxAILASxX Fungi have cell walls too, but theirs are made of chitin rather than cellulose ;)

  • awww, no wildebeest for dinner!!? wah!

  • he always says ziptop bag

  • His knives are so damn sharp

  • I'm not about to freak out over imaginary cell walls being punctured.

  • Why does he say wishtisher sauce? he pronounced it correctly in past episodes.

  • what a badass rider.

  • Not only does this tell you how to make jerky, it also teaches you why McDonalds hamburgers don't go bad! Science!!!

  • ...did he say Santuko... at 7:19..it should be santoku D:

  • @SaphirazJewel both pronunciations are acceptable. they are just variations of the original.

  • some times there are crappy days, and that is another reason i watch good eats. no uni-tasking with this show at all. it can turn any day around.

  • I love meat, like beef jerky , i like to beat my meat before i cookit though do you?

  • Alton, I love you, but there is no way in hell I'm building a still to make my own liquid smoke.

  • this is my absolute favorite cooking tv show ever ! (:

I like how he includes history & humor ;D

  • Bad news kids:

    No wilderbeast !

  • kerry brand worschesier sauce... love it

  • BEST SNACK EVER

  • 2 people are vegetarians...

  • I use this recipe all the time. It tastes great whether you use a dehydrator or a box fan.

  • weestershure sauce? what?

  • @MrEinZwei worcestershire sauce.

  • I love beef jerky, but I can't ever seriously imagine making my own liquid smoke over just buying a damn bottle in the supermarket.

  • @Esgaro I know most people are like that, but I'm a little different. If I can make it, I will make it. Mainly because it's fun as hell for me.

  • @gamemeister27 Is homemade jerky good? What about using venison?

  • @sluggo06 Homemade jerky is good as hell, especially venison jerky. Thank my cousins for getting to sample the deer they bag every year, I just don't have the attention span to sit in a deer stand for 8 hours in a 30 degree swamp.

  • @gamemeister27 i fixed some yesterday. i dont think i did it right. lol

but right now im resoaking it to make it taste better

  • Yo I made this last year it was good, really good. I took the meat and put it on a coat hanger and left it outside in the cold. The meat dried up and it was perfect. I am going to make some right now. YEAH!!!

  • Has anyone tried this recipe yet? I love watching this show, and it looks good. Just wondering because I've never tried making jerky myself.

  • I tried the recipe, but used a dehyrator instead of the box fan/filters. Pretty good.

  • tried this recpie with the fan and filters.. BOMB

  • ur a douche bag

  • It's interesting Alton should mention garum because the Ancient Roman fish sauce is more or less "extinct" since no recipes exist (and even with a list of ingredients, there are no known proportions listed of said ingredients). Worcestershire sauce can simply be considered a modern interpretation of garum.

I wonder if Alton plans on doing an episode on garum and other fish sauces?

  • I want one of those extendo-forks

  • The Archie McPhee catalog sells them, it's called the freeloader fork.

  • lol 3:56

  • No wildebeest...XD

  • 7:00

animal cells don't have cell walls :P

    wicked show still ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • plant cells & molds = cell walls

    animal cells = membranes

and the membrane doesn't give them structure. in fact, comparing animal cells with structureless goo is quite right :D

  • that's a nitpick if ever I've seen one!

  • Hoo hoo, look who just took high school biology!

  • No, no, it's the cell MEMBRANE that hold animal cells together.

  • I made this recipe with moose, it's very good!

  • can't wait to try this im going to try for 4 year shelf life. maybe make it lightly salt it and vac it.

  • zip TOP bag?

  • he can't say Zip-Lock because it is a brandname.

  • somewhat funny...

  • Excellent show.

Not sure if Aston is Annoyingly Hilarious or Hilariously Annoying...

  • Both... In a good way!!!
