Ive worked with india blackhead and its not that dangerous that you would need a biohazard suit. Why do they always try to make fireworks look like they are so freaking dangerous? Oh, thats right, money!
@iamrandom837 those same "million dollar" factories produce billions of sparklers over their operating timeline...so they make alot more money then they use
In England we only get 18in sparklers,we don't get massive 50cm and 90cm ones like the states do,Why? If these were allowed in England, they would be labelled as Category 3 Non Hand-Held Display Firework Sparklers which is wrong. I've held the massive 50cm and 90cm sparklers in the USA and if you're careful they are quite safe to hold.
I can never understand how these dumbass kids manage to burn themselves with these...honestly even a 4 year old should know not to grab the part that's on fire...and then the parents make a huge fuss....god...
if they put iron oxide and aluminum, you would get thermite and even better sparks. And even if you could find barium nitrate, it probably wouldnt be very cost efective.
at the start he says that sparklers are the only fireworks that are safe to handle while lit.... this isnt ture, some types of roman candles are safe to hold
@Dalemoooooon Of course sparklers are safe to hold. You hold them at arm's length away from your eyes and body and other people taking great care at all times.
@AnthonyUK if you hadnt noticed, i didnt say sparklers were dangerous... i was stating that sparklers are not the only types of firework that are safe to hold.
They most likely left something out, or they just dont care since theyre hard to get, and sparklers arent too expensive, and you can grind em down to make whatever you wanna make with sparklers..... even bigger sparklers lol
@HGClark It's the ingredient mix for thermite (aluminum and iron III oxide, aka rust), plus a few other additives to bind it to the rod. Anybody with an internet connection could tell you that.
@HGClark kids can buy them in shops, at least in germany they have no age restriction so why should they censor any ingredients? :D it's not a nuclear bomb
@HGClark yeah I guess if you have access to the materials needed to build these, you already know how it's made.. especially nukes... and the access to these things is restricted at the respective point of sale. How would a kid get tons of steel for a tank? or the fine mechanics of a machine gun? :-P it's ok to know how things are done.. as a kid you don't have access to the materials, and as an adult you should have the responsibility to not build something dangerous without precautions :)
@HGClark actualy barium nitrate is expensive. I'm sure you have limits to purchase boric acid. powdering large amounts of iron and aluminium are time consuming. so you may need LOTS of money and time to make a "dangerous" amount of sparklers
@francisco4202 the commercaly sold gunpowder is just fine.i use it when reloading certin cartriges and for my muzzlelodders.i can make even more powerful powder, though i would no use it in one of my muzzleloaders becase i dont know what kind of pressures it would make and i dont want to run the risk of blowing up one of my guns.

boric acid is a neutralizer? what? barium nitrate is acidic so it shouldnt be neutralized by a weak acid...

why is it 4:3?

it takes million dollar factories to make sparklers, but only one dollar to buy them. That's a rip off for the factory, but good for me.
