Will always remember exactly where I was when I first heard Nirvana. Was at the gym getting ready to train and my friend stops me and says "check this out, this band kicks ass." It was Smells like Teen Spirit and literally one of the very first times they showed the video. I actually stayed there and watched the entire thing, because after most of the crap ass music I was forced to grow up with in the 1980s, this was completely different and everyone took notice.

The man was great.

I think that the reason we have not made a huge tribute to Kurt is because he once said "I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not." In our eyes Kurt was a great musician, maybe even a god-like musician, but in Kurt's eyes he wasn't. His music was. We pay tribute to his music by listening and buying albums and learning how to play them etc. because maybe Kurt wanted people to know his music more than himself. And I don't mean to be a DBag, but at least spell his name right ppl
