Pretty impressive for your first cell. I didn't have mine working that well until my third try. It still beats paying $1000 for the automotive cell kits.
Thank you for the comment. I enjoyed doing it and would like to make more of them for friends and customers. The winter has just slowed things down, still not sure how to keep it from freezing.
I am sorry to hear that. The best results so far are around 13%. That is without any computer input intervention. I am going to try an EFIE as soon as I find the right person to buy one from. Any suggestions on a good place to buy let me know. Thanks.
The production should be just a little under 1 litre per min.. I am very sorry but it is too early to tell the increase yet. This was installed on my father in laws truck. Right now I am having electrolyte concerns. Trying tap water and baking soda but it keeps blowing 30 amp inline fuse after a few extended uses, any suggestions would be welcome.
for being your first cell, I think it's Awesome! could you supply just alittle bit more info about your build? I'm just curious about your config of plates. straight tap water?
Thank you for the compliment, it is very much appreciated. There are 49 plates in the cell all about 2" x 3" 316L SS 20ga. I have them arranged with nuetrals in between the neg and pos plates. I am using tap water and baking soda. I am having troubles with the amount of baking soda to use. My last mix was 1/16th teaspoon per gallon and it still blew a fuse after repeated extended use. Any suggestions welcome.
Might try and use stright distilled water, you'll find the amps are alot lower. I currently use Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda) + Distilled water (Roebic, found at Lowes or many hardware stores) only use very little amounts, in grams. I use maybe one and half grams. somewhere around 20-30 amps from what I read off the Amp meter. btw, tap water already has alot of elements to make a good electrolite, adding Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)would increase the ampers.how hot does your cell get?
I will take your advice on the distilled water, still trying baking soda with it. The temperature gets around 120 F.. It is in a lexan box and not sure if my infrared thermometer is getting an accurate reading or not. I appreciate your comments.
