  • pinch colar.. its called "choke chain"

  • I had a higher content than this and it was well behaved it’s the training and socialization. He was ok with other people, dogs, and cats even if the ran. He was my shadow. I trained him every second he was with me. Wolf dogs are for EXPERIENCED dog owners. Don’t just say "Oh i have owned a Chihuahua now i want a big beautiful wolf" it’s stupid. I have owned feral dogs, gsd, rotties, malamute/husky mix, terrier mix, lab/collie mix and that’s just me not what my family has owned which is 19 dogs.

  • K9 is an absolutely beautiful animal. My friend had a wolf hybrid named Cheyenne, and he was similar to K9. Not very playful, a bit "serious", a bit of a faraway "feral" look in his eyes, and just a calm assertive attitude that commands respect more than fear. My dog has a similar disposition, and it suits me better than an attention-seeking Lab who needs to be constantly chasing a ball. Have you read Shaun Ellis's accounts of his "Living with wolves"? Fascinating!

  • what a beautiful dog if you dont want him please may I have him?

  • Well he not bad i've seen worse he traniable with the right help :)

ohh all of the people here that are saying you'll never be able to train him because he is part wolf are fools sorry to say but dogs come from wolves even a little yorkie has SOME wolf in it, somewhere down the line every dogs been a wolf.

and The Dog Whisperer takes wolf hybrids too I've seen a show with a pure white one :D

ok back to business your dog is so beautiful it's gorgeous I mean handsome lol

  • If course Dog Whisperer wouldn't take the REAL wolfdog. No, let's work with the ugly shepherd mix and avoid the ones that are actually part wolf.

Oh well, it's probably for the best that real wolfdogs like K2 didn't make it on the show.

  • can you help?

    which chapter is this?

  • of course he hates car rides, he's a wolf...what wolf has ever been in a car before? there's a reason humans bred dogs from wolves instead of just keeping wolves all these years. Dogs fit better into our lives. Wolves do not, if you want them to be completely fulfilled, that is.

  • @crazedweazels I know I own a 80% wolf, wolf hybrid that loves car rides. He knows to just lay down (in my lap unfornetly) haha and relax... its all how you raise them. Mine grew up going everywhere in the car. You just have to expose them to lots of things at an early age. I know alot of dogs that hate car rides as well. Thats why before you get an animal (especially a wolf hybrid) you have to be ready for a commitment. Its not an animal you just want to throw in the yard and forget about

  • And this is why wolf-dog hybrids are a bad idea. No matter if it's 1% or 90% wolf, it's still a wolf. You will never be able to fully train him like you would a dog.

Wolves belong in the wild, not in people's homes! Part of their beauty is their freedom; I just don't understand why you would want to take that away from them.

  • @Coopenator Lies. All dogs are at least 1% wolf. Shithead.

  • @shadow11822

Oh, very compelling argument. That will certainly add credence to your statement.

Regardless of your personal opinion (or lack there of), the fact remains that wolf-dog hybrids are unpredictable animals. You CANNOT treat them like your average dog, because they aren't. They are stronger, smarter, and hold to a social pecking order that most people do not understand. To treat them as anything less than a partially wild animal is only fooling yourself and mistreating the animal.

  • @Coopenator I agree that most people should not own a wolf hybrid because they are harder to raise than a regular dog and they need a lot of time and patience. However, I own a wolf-hybrid that is 80% wolf and he is better than any dog you could own (around us). He has some small issues, but he doesn't do alot of things that other dogs do, he grew up from 4 weeks of age in my house. Now he is in the back yard (which is huge), although he still thinks he belongs inside haha So,...

  • @Coopenator soo I beg to differ that they cant be raised in a house... (as long as they get lots of excercise to offset the house time). My wolf hybrid is the biggest baby and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Once you have a wolf hybrid, you never go back to a normal dog because they are just so intelligent and human-like. I know I plan on getting another when Sakima dies (depending on where im living). Not all people should get one though. They take alot of understanding and time.

  • now this dog looks like mine, but a little heavier I think. Guessing 75lbs? Mine's 60lbs.

  • let me tell you how to use it right, so that you will have more success with it. take off about 2 links, reattach the collar, place the collar at the top of the neck, where its pretty snug. the top, not the base of the neck, high up, when he does something you dont agree with, give him a slight snap of the leash and i gaurantee it will work. good luck. i use those myself.

  • the prong collar is on WRONG

  • Look into a trainer that is familiar with wolves/wolfdogs (yes, there are some very good ones). Could save you and your boy a lot of trouble later on.

  • A well trained wolfdog is a good ambassador, but this type of behavior should not come as a shock to an educated wolfdog owner. Definitely not something to sick the Dog Whisperer on. Training dogs...ok. Training wolfdogs. If he ever handled my boys the way I have seen him on TV, my animals would be ruined.

  • Welcome to the world of wolfdogs. This is pretty typical, especially the disliking the car part.

  • Looks to me the dog has claustrophobia and acting a bit barn sour like a spoiled horse.

  • OMG so big! So pretty!
