i lived at the frat house across the street...usually i am pissed to be awoken to trains, or baseball practice, but i was honored, as a bronco, to be awoken to this. FIGHT ON FIGHT ON FOR WESTERN!
Having been in the BMB I should say a run on or a quick "march on" from the corner tunnel would be pretty cool. The BMB is big enough, larger than CMU or EMUs band, to pull off a Big 10 style pregame show. I agree with the earlier comment that there is too much stopping and starting the pregame show. A little high-stepping would be cool to whip the crowd up, but definitely keep the corps-style for the halftime show.
I'm not a big fan of the back-and-forth W. I also think we should do our entry cadence from the tunnel in the corner, sort of like a run on. Also, I enjoy bands that high step their pregames, but that's just me...
While I appreciate your opinion I have to say nay to the run-on and high stepping. I to think that it does look very cool, but BMB is a Corps style band. I have had the opportunity to see another MAC band (CMU) attempt a "Big Ten run-on" and it just looks comical compared to those of Uof M, MSU, and OSU. Our pre-game is challenging enough as it is, and I think if we were to change it our faithful following would be upset.
@bndguuurl69 well pardon me but being from the CMU Band I would greatly hope no other students in this spectacular group would say the same thing. I have the up most respect for the BMB and was what I wanted to be apart of for my ENTIRE high school career. I can admit how honored I was to play at the WMU band day and how it changed my whole outlook on what I wanted to be. So please, from one musician to another, understand that we work just as hard as you all. CMB loves BMB.
I think a run on would be cool, however, do you remember going to Indiana a few years ago (if you were in at the time). Personally I thought their run on and high stepping looked horrible, I almost felt bad for them. No one seemed to be in step with each other, I'd rather look clean than like that.
Nope, your not the only one. I love pregame. We always have cool unique shows, but pregame cadence, hot time, gal, fight song, all of it, absolutely my favorite part of the games.
I wish somebody would post an entire BMB pregame show on here. All there are are bits and bits pieces.
