I do think that Mr. Dennis is wrong for not giving Batman his proper dues though. He only came alittle less than a year after Superman. With all respect to The Man of Steel, the Caped Crusader has become a bigger success in popculture.....and just as much of a worldwide icon. Think of the mass merchandising produced from Batman since 1989 alone....not mention his enormous popularity for just two years in the mid to late 1960s'. What the hell has Mickey Mouse has had since the mid eighties?

I actually really enjoyed Superman Returns in spite of the fact that Christopher Reeve is just such a tough act to follow....and he really is! I think it was a very valiant effort. However, Mr. Dennis is absolutely correct in his statement that you do not get that chill going up your spine the same way you do when you are watching Chris Reeve in the Donner films. In many ways I think Chris Reeve set the bar so high that there may never be another Superman era as popular again.
