Nice work! I'll check out Deshaker..but I've looked at the Sanyo, how on earth do you mount it??? How long have you had it? Does it feel cheap at all...I was looking at the Digital Hero3, but heard it feels cheap and quality isnt brill.. The Sanyo looks awesome!
Hey man, the Xacti is a great camera. The C1 is plastic but still feels sturdy and well made. The C5 (and all later models I think) is metal. They're designed to be a good quality mid-range compact camera. 640x480, 30fps, MPEG4 compression. Not as good as an actual vid cam but definately still very nice.
Lots of functions, comfy to hold etc. I think they're great.
As for the mount, check out my vid 'Dodgy Handlebar Mount'. I'm experimenting with other ways of mounting too :)
I also had a look at the Digital Hero 3. It has a bad framerate, about 10 or 15 fps which makes the video look jumpy. Definately looks cheap. I'll bet you can find an Xacti on Ebay cheaper and they're a much better camera.
For a totally different idea, check out 88hawaii's videos. He mounts a camera inside his visor so he can talk and record. nice idea but my nose is bigger than his so I'll mash it if I face plant. :) Not good.
Hi, it's a Sanyo Xacti C1. They're a 3.2mp camera that records to an SD card, no moving parts.
No image stabilisation as you can see but in my more recent vids I've been putting them through Virtual dub and a filter called Deshaker. Works like a charm and best of all free.
Check out my 'finally! A decent ride on the katana' vids for an example.
