In rap/hip-hop music, there is a lot of sampling. It's a tradition. On the radio, most of the songs that are sampled are used with permission. Timbo did not get permission to use the sample in this song. THAT'S the problem.

Producers hardly ever like to disclose where they get there samples from, and sampling music from outside the US has many loop holes because the copyright law applies differently. HOnestly, those dudes gained more than timbo did. THe record with Nelly didnt really do all to great..but they sure have gained publicity off this...

the very essence of the art form took breakbeats from old soul records and ppl rapped over them in the late 70's early 80's what Timbo did with this song is no different, I'd say a good 70% of hip hop is based on a sample or a replayed element. any research will show Timbo is very versed in the art of recording mixing and mastering music let it go guys seriously. rock samples too BTW
