  • hay im planing on bying one for my frst car all i know is that he wants 2500$ for it the hole roof is rusty is it worth it

  • @DakotaRTinTX Btw, abusing it the way I did, I went through two clutches and three transmissions. All under the 50,000 mile warranty. I know these aren't Chargers as we all remember them but this was one badass little car for practically peanuts. The Z28 and Trans Am weren't putting out hardly any more horses and weighed like 500 more lbs.

  • 1966-70 were the best the 80s were no where near what a charger means.

  • CAR CAME YEAR AFTER HIGH SCHOOL WHAT A BIG POS K CAR

  • im planning on buying a shelby charger from my friend for 4000$

    is it worth it?

  • @DUSHANMANGRUE - that depends on a few things actually. What's the year? What color is it? Any rust? Any modifications? What engine is in it? I bought mine for $1700 almost 4 years ago now and its doin ok. I'm actually in the market for a new one so anyone let me know if there are any really nice ones out there!

  • @siucdude88 hey thanks for the reply,

i never asked him what the year is or wht type engine it has or anything, it used to be black but its rusted quite alot, also its bone stock, as far as any mods....pretty sure the only thing ever changed on it would be oil or tires......im guessing its starting to sound like a bad deal then

  • @DUSHANMANGRUE u should be only paying that if its clean and a shelby if its stocker maybe 800

  • @siucdude88 1700??

really damn i want to buy one :D

  • I bought one of these brand new back in 86. I loved that car but the thing constantly broke down one me. Seemed to keep eating alternators, went thru 3 of them. The AC broke too. It was fast as hell though, kicked a lot of ass racing. Got tired of it breaking down so got rid of it after 3 years. I think I paid like 9500 for it new.

  • @DUSHANMANGRUE Fuck no. That is one of Mitsubishi's biggest shit boxes ever!

  • @DUSHANMANGRUE i've heard the from all corners, thanks for another...i ended up wid a Yukon Denali

  • An 86 Shelby Charger was my first car. I learned to drive stick on that car. Man I miss that thing. The trans went one day and I got rid of it. If I had the mechanical skills I do now back then I would be driving it today. I loved that car!

  • yeah i love this car i have an 86 charger its stock no turbo and an auto but at least i can tell my friends with there shitty cars i have a charger lol

  • I just to have one in high school back in the early 90's... Man that was a lady catching car... Nice to see one in such great shape still... How much for it??? :P

  • Nice car! I like that it has the peperoni wheels instead of those ugly Shelby wheels

  • MOPARS RULE NICE CAR TO

  • I keep my Dodge in the Garage. I've got a 3500 w/ a Cummins in it that I really enjoy a lot too. Keep her clean & have lots of enjoyment w/ your Shelby! Nice!

  • I have an original. With 14,440miles. I'm the original owner. She's a garage Queen!

  • oh man... i would love a car like that...

  • Sweet ride!!! I had a mint one then I ran into a tree on ice and totaled it......I want another one

  • get one! lol... i love these cars and will always want to own at least one

  • NICE RIDE !

  • No offense, but the years 68,69 and 70 were the best years of the Charger. All other years looked kind of misery.

  • i personally really hate 69 and on and dont really think these cars are too much charger. they are really cool cars and so much fun to drive but they should have been like the shelby omni coupe or something.... they just done seem like chargers to me. but i do love the 68 chargers and 66-67... those are just the best years of the car to me... i dont like the long tail lights of 69 and onward and 69 has that really ugly center grille piece. 66-68 were the best to me at least :-)

  • @Henzzman I had a 69 R/T with a 440 and I really loved it. I think back in the 80's I really didn't have as much of an appreciation for these 80's model Chargers as I do now. Especially since you never see them anyway. These are two different Chargers from two different eras and I think they both were great cars in their own ways

  • @pmafterdark To each his own i guess.

  • @Henzzman I guess you got that right.

  • Nice car. I had a 87 in silver and blue. Couldn't keep a transaxle in it so I had to quit driving it. Went through 2 in less than a year. But I loved it.

  • is it for sale? I have an 83 original, and mint!

  • is my car for sale? no sir... im keeping this car until i die... i plan on a complete resto once i get the funds

  • well, can't blame a guy for trying..lol

  • Man I loved those things!!! My dad had one exactly like that ..They are really fast

  • If only the 80s hadn't happened... Too many bad stylings and front wheel drives. This isn't too bad though. Better than the Rustang.

  • damn right the mustang blows... yeah this isnt the greatest car in the world and i dont clame it to be... but it is a fun car and easy to work on... and nice and cheap! lol plus its a car that not many people know about so its cool to get looks from people going "well what the hell is that?" lol

  • I have an 85 Charger and an 86 Shelby Charger. One being for parts of course. I have been working on it for 3 years now. will be nice when it's all done.

  • awesome man... i plan on keeping this car for a long time and completely reworking it... like taking it down to bare metal and repainting and fixing rust and such... complete resto... some day lol

  • nice car, i prefer the 81 or 69 tho... 69's were the best

  • 68 charger r/t is the best in my opinion... i hate the split grill on the 69 and the rear lights... 68 just looks cooler to me... but thats my opinion

  • yeah the tail-lights are pretty amazing but i love the split in the grill and the body of the "69 is like the best with aerodynamics.

  • Actually the best second generation charger would have to be 1970, the 440 sixpack was definitely the best engine option of that year (aside from the hemi)

But then again everyone has their own taste. Anyway, nice car, I have a few questions though. How good on gas is it? What's the performance and Whats the price range?

  • the gas is actually pretty good... it runs on premium but all turbo cars should... it gets around 24 mpg on highway if i dont have too much fun with boosting lol... and performance is great for a car from the 80s! not sure about 0-60 times but im sure you can find those somewhere. and i got my car for $1700 and its stripped out and has a cage but stock engine and has some problems... but every so often you can come across one thats in perfect condition for about $8000

  • omg i had this exact car color too damn with the ground effects kit!!! i hated this car sorry but it broke down all the time first it was the alternator,, then the voltage regulator,, then the front axels uggggggg

  • oh i know that frustration dont worry, but when it all is working correctly... it puts a smile on my face every single time :-)

  • LOL yea it was my first car, so it does bring back some memories,, i got it in 1991 wow,, the axels broke all the time, but you couldent kill the engine. lol

  • Sweet car. There a very few of these left. Keep it alive. These cars are the ultimate giant killers. And they look like nothing else on the road..especially with the crazy stripe package that could have only come for the eighties.

  • nice

  • 80s turbo cars are the shit. i just got a 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe last week and im gonna get some video of it up maybe this week. classics like these are such a blast to own because they are fast, handle well, and get great MPGs. the only downside is reliability.

  • Wow, it's pretty awesome looking.

Looks a lot better than mine.

It's good to know people still drive american muscle and not imports

  • and ti sounds like shit

  • and what do you drive? a honda civic with a fartcan on it? or are you maybe some douche who thinks the mustang is the end all be all awesomest car ever... either way... your opinion means nothing. :-)

  • why do stupid people insist on commenting on videos they shouldnt be watching in the first place... i dont clame this to be the fastest car in the world dickweed... i like mopars and these are rare cars that almost no one knows about... and i love audis... great cars for rally racing. these were fast for their time for being so cheap... plus they are not hard to get up to some pretty good horsepower numbers...

  • agreed. and you are correct

only mopar fanboys know what the 2.2l/2.5l t are capable of.

    I had a 91 LeBaron w/ the 2.5 Hi-T (215lbs insted of 180) with only 800 worth of mods it ran 14 Flat running a mere 15 psi

oh and the engine had 158k on it

  • and this car cost about a 1/4 of that and is probably faster in the quarter mile

  • You know what's unbelievably rare about this generation of Chargers? Plymouth made two Turismos with the Barracuda nameplate.

It was to be Plymouth's version of this (the 'Cuda name was legendary in the '60s and '70s, as was Dodge's Charger marque), the Shelby Charger, but Carroll Shelby made Chrysler halt production of the '86 'Cuda, owing that as a Plymouth it would cheapen the exclusive nature of his tuned Dodge model.

  • i remember reading an article about hat recently... they were white with red stripes... would have been cool if they actually produced it, but i can see where Shelby was coming from...

  • One was painted white with red stripes and the other was painted red with black stripes. The red-painted car also had a black interior. The details on the whereabouts of the red one haven't been determined as of 2000.

  • Nice shelby. I have a black 86 too, I wish mine looked as good as yours.

  • I had an 85 Shelby, these things are beasts...if you know of anyone who has one for sale let me know.

  • where are you located and how much you looking to pay for a real shelby charger cs?

  • Ive got one in Detroit for you...needs a bank of fuel injectors and clutch work..other than that it's an ok car.

  • What's it like driving with the rear stripped out? Given that so much percent of the weight is in the front I'd think it would be dangerous. I'm thinking about stripping out my NSRT

  • its not bad at all actually... i dont notice much of a difference. and in winter its not bad at all if you just know how to drive a car... back end doesnt slide too much. i like the stripped out rear end... its louder and sounds tinny inside but its all worth it... plus it needed to be done with the roll cage installed... it wouldnt fit past the rear seats... i would recommend it... plus it helps with people mooching rides! lol

  • cars in nice shape. how fast were these? I heard stock they ran about a high 14 or low 15 quarter, and 0-60 in 6.5-6.7 seconds.

  • they are around there... they arent terribly fast stock but they wooped the crap out of the mustangs and camaros of the day... and there are plenty of hop up parts for these things. the guy who owned it before me had it at 407 wheel horsepower on pump gas and it ran a 10.3 in the quarter... it was a wicked car...

  • i had a 1980 omni 024(same body style) with the race package, but the 1.7l. I later removed it and dropped a 2.5t in it. Stripped the car down to close to 1800lbs. That shit flew

  • Nice car

  • nice, ihad a maroon 86 some yrs back. why do they all lose their bumper cover extensions?

  • Man sweet ride....My ol man gave me one of these when I was 15 after is wife blew it up. She hit a pot hole and put a hole on the oil pan and kept driving..... too bad I was 15 I knew nothing on about how sweet it would be to own one today.

  • I wish i knew how to fix cars, :( i have one of these rotting away in my back yard :( :(

  • if you ever want to part it out... contact me!!!!! im always looking for parts!!!

  • I had a 1984 2.2 Dodge Charger for 5 years i wish i never sold it, back in 1999. Was i good looking car.

  • dude. I gotta get those shelby seats

  • Is there any Chargers in existence that has the 1.7l VW engine mounted? The story says that the 1.6 was used from 1983 such as the "Charger" nameplate for the earlier Omni as well. Some sources say that the 1.6 engine was installed from the middle of the year, so there are '83 Chargers that have the 1.7, the 1.6 and the 2.2 engine as well.

  • i have an 83, the non turbo engine. 1.6 i believe? it needs work but i hope one day its back looking something like this

  • I have got a 87 shelby charger that I am trying to restore. They are great cars but hard to find good replacment parts for.

  • just gotta know where to look!

  • Sweet! I have an '86 with 65k on the clock... someday these will be worth something like the Cuda's & BB Chevelles are now. I'll just hang onto mine. I had an '87 back in the day when they were just another car.

  • my dads first car was a 68 charger r/t with a 440... so yeah... they are just awesome cars

  • why are chargers everyones first car, my dads first car was a charger too go figure

  • my first truck was a 84 cal Shelby rampage, almost the same thing.

  • my first car. Damn I miss it

  • I drove one of those back in 86-87 in El Paso until an idiot pulled out in front of me -- car was totaled. Big memories, thanks for the pix...NMXGUY

  • hey i was reading about this car on t2 lol and you still didnt take those country stickers off

  • what now?

  • I had a red/silver model. Sweet car. Light, fast. Handled great.

  • Same here, still have. Right now I am finishing the rebuild.

  • check out dcxsucks' channel he's got even more POWERFUL DODGE ACTION WITH TONS OF tire SMOKE!!

  • Damn good looking car. I had the '83 silver on blue. Sweet

  • Nice....my first car was a charger

  • man i miss my shelby ,I had the black and silver shelby w/ turbo and shelby etched in the rear hatch back glass ..Had some great times in that car!!!

  • Wow that is a gorgeous car

  • thanks! im glad everyone likes it so much lol

  • i got the same car but its grey and blue.....i love it to death

  • which color is more promonent? the grey or blue... cuz if you have a grey car with blue stripes i envy you.. thats a very rare color combo...

  • mines the grey with the blue stripe down the middle.....yeah i havent seen any with the same color scheme as mine

  • yeah there were only about 300 of that color ever mad for 86 i think... its a rare color for all years. nice find! post a vid or something... would love to see it.

  • Nice ride. Chargers are sweet.
