@Dan474834 The piano is actually a digital piano in disguise. Even normally it's a digitised sound. There's a pickup rack attached underneath the keys which lead to a Roland Synthesizer. It's the same synthesizer system that was used in the keyboard he used to play during the 80s. It's quite a high tech piano :p

@05pricej i think your wrong. this is a disklavier system. awesome yamaha pianos. when he plays with the piano voice it is a true acoustic with digital sounds added on top of it. this is just a disklavier synth sound controlled by a technician who knows how to operate the thing because i must say they are not the most user friendly instruments although they sound fantastic.

@puffball9 Yes, after doing some further research that does appear to be more of the case. However, it is hooked up to an MKS-20 somewhere.

@puffball9 Yes it is a disklavier system, which is part of Elton's piano. He controls it himself. It's a real piano with hammers and strings, with the midi add on. The sound he's using here is state of the art Yamaha technology that he uses to emulate what used to be a "Rhodes" piano back in the 70's but with much more punch, since he is playing solo. The other acoustic piano songs are enhanced with the disklavier as well as a Rock Piano. It is a real piano, nevertheless. True artist here!!
