yeah when EA took over westwood they changed a lot of things. C&C in general became a lot more silly and campy. But most noticeably Red alert changed a lot.

I think originally Red alert was like a prequel type story that was supposed to show how the brotherhood got started and how tiberium was introduced to the planet but obviously that didn't go anywhere further thanks to EA.
