He survives in the most insane places like the desert or the middle of some deserted island, he'll have his camera equipment, his clothes off his back, a poker knife kit, and if he's lucky he was a single match or some crumbs of food or something. He disentangle waste any time and he'll have a fire
Or a sheltor in minutes! Well, that's who he is, and that's what Les deoa for the ppp that didn't know ;P
Lol, I have this book out from the library right now...
I love the show survive this... I watch it on ytv. Everyone who watches it on the cartoon network seems to be angry, though because it's not a cartoon. :P
Survivorman is really interesting. It must have been a pain for Les Stroud to have filmed himself though...
I thought it was cool that a lot of the hardcore survival guys pointed out that doing what he did was one thing , but filming it well was a skill many of them would easily fail at.
this book isent all that great it tells you to have a survival kit ready at all times tell people where your going and to build a shelter get food and water the only bit of useful information really is on how to build traps and knives out of rocks and wood
You should, because of Bear Grylls everyone now thinks you can drink urine, which is total fiction. If you do drink it in a survival situation, you will poison yourself, kill your kidneys, and likely die faster, as you wont be able to process water.
and now everyone thinks that you can drink pee because Bear Grylls does it. Damn retard.
Looks interesting. The aspects of living with nature are endless. Gaining an understanding of nature is a more important reason to study wilderness survival than concern over surviving an emergency for most of us.
yah basically no heat and subject to wind. He refers to the lean-to as a short term/emergency shelter and that with the effort involved, an A frame should be the goal. I guess he spent a lot of cold nights in lean-tos hehe.
@LongHuntre and cody lundin got hippy with bear grylls

I am gonna have to check it out as well.
And yea, it is not a good idea to drink urine, however you can collect it and then distil it to get the water out.
QuietBearr 2 years ago
hehe I was debating doing on video on just that! lol

lol you should only drink pee as a last ditch effort if you havent had any water for at least 2 days
HLGNOScope 2 years ago
yea, not even then, it would be better to just purify it.
QuietBearr 2 years ago
looks like a good book. I'll have to check it out.

hey guys. this is a great book. i love it anad the show. Anyone know the survival knife he uses?
jungleprimitive 3 years ago 2
Les seems to use whatever is available. Whether its a sak or buck 119, its always hard to tell as he rarely shows the knife.
Severator 3 years ago
he usually carries a Leatherman Wave or Wave 2

Seems like a handy book; i will try to read more about survival.
I like Bear Grills more, i have to say:)
From waht I've seen Stroud just sits around waiting for rescue to come, Bear finds a way to save himself.
offcourse, Bear has an entire crew next to hin, Les is alone.
holdenccc 3 years ago
I like Bear too but for different reasons. Once you get to know Les, his dry humor and excitement are a great to watch.
