It's amazing how incredibly attached I was to this film. Every picture on there evoked some feeling in me and my heart stir over and over. Of course, that's probably because I watched the film over 6 times within the course of two weeks :))
But I guess that shows how powerful this film was! Loved it then, still love it now :)

I think Summer shouldn't have done all of those things and then just leave him like that. I was sort of disappointed with the ending but it did keep the movie from ending up to be just another cliche love story.
I like your video because it's cute, well made and nice to watch. But it only shows the ups of their relationship. It does not touch on the depression he goes into, the fact that she leaves him or the fact that he's kinda needy and she's slightly mean. A person could watch this video and then think it'll be a cute romantic film so they'll wanna watch it. Which it is most of the time, but they could be really disappointed that it didn't work out for Summer and Tom. But hey, I'm over-opinionated.
Three words can sum up this great movie: Expectations versus Reality. Tom would have enjoyed his time with Summer if he had just accepted her for who she was, warts and all, instead of imposing this cartoon character fairy tale no human could live up to. It's a great lesson to learn, one everyone who has ever been in love--or even had a crush--should gain insight from.

She wasn't a bitch, she explained to Tom that they were never really in love and he was just in love with the idea of "being in love." They never would have been truly happy together.

It became much more serious for him than it did for her, because sometimes two people can be together but have a differing intensity of feelings toward each other. He fell in love with her because he loved things about her, not because she led him on and made him fall in love with her.
Ultimately it challenges the notion of "The One", which is why I love it so much.

and to people calling summer a bitch... don't you ever get someone who fall in love with you, but u don't feel the same but u don't want to reject them completely out of politeness? have you ever been unsure to love or not to love a person?

@AlchemyVisuals The 1st time I saw the film, I hated Summer too, but it took a 2nd time for me to see that Summer did the right thing and taught an important lesson. You can't force love, which is what Tom was trying to do. They cared for each other, but they weren't soulmates, which Summer realized while Tom tried to convince himself that they were. Their split allowed them to meet their TRUE soulmates. Watch it again and remember, "This isn't a love story. It's a story about love."

I was made out to be a horrible person by his brother and friends. But I couldn't lie to him anymore, it wasn't fair. I'm glad someone understands this movie just like I did!

It became much more serious for him than it did for her, because sometimes two people can be together but have a differing intensity of feelings toward each other. He fell in love with her because he loved things about her, not because she led him on and made him fall in love with her.
Ultimately it challenges the notion of "The One", which is why I love it so much.

If she only had known that he fell in love with her, it would all have been different. She was just using him, maybe she felt subconsciously well with him because of his affetion?
