@Robbob9933 I used to work at a telemarketing agency and people would tell me that all the time, and they would research it and have big shpeels all ready about how its illegal once you ask and all this, we would call the next day, lol.. That doesnt scare anyone because there are stipulations, like if you engane in coversation before telling the person that for instance saying "hello" back, lol you will stay on the list..
@boogie504 Actually the act of placing the call again was the violation. The only way to ever break this is if they give you permission or fail to renew on DNCR. "Engaming" is just a ruse used to bully the recipeint into not asserting their rights. The reason most telemarketers ignore the DNCR is that the fines are 1) tax deductable and 2) so small to be meaningless and 3) the FTC rarely enforces.
@Robbob9933 Actually we called anyone, lol.. and I would feel bad alot of the times because I would talk to people that were so mad that they were nice, like they had given up, lol.. and I would get screamed at everyday but back then it was the only job I could find and I had to feed my baby :) So to everyone out there whining because a telemarketer is calling, instead of being a dick, realize that person is supporting a family & be thankful u have a nice home and phone to answer! lol
OK dumbass lets set things straight. do you think we enjoy making these phone calls every day? we are required to make sure assholes like you dont forget to refill your scripts because we dont want you forgetting to get your blood pressure tablets and having a massive heart attack. if you want them to stop then call the fucking hotline and opt out. its a choice. sadly you wont be missed though if you dont understand the fucking healthcare system shut the fuck up and quit your bitching already.
@nippondaisuki Too bad you guys don't stop. I was out of the state for the summer and my parents kept receiving phones calls at their house. They told CVS to stop since I wasn't even in the state, and it took several tries. Then, I got phone calls on my cell phone. Those stopped when the prescription ran out. Just recently when I filled a new prescription, they started calling my parent's house again. I told them to stop only to have an automated call on my cell phone this morning.
you don't get it first it is not my responsibility to have to call you. Second, your company says sign up for it but i did not and third i had to call the pharmacy the 800 number would not do it this is an invasion of my privacy by greedy corporate powers that needs to be stopped and the only thing they understand is money
@QuickRick19 alright dude i understand you didnt "sign up" for it but if you notice its not "ready fill" that's calling you and telling you its filled its asking if you want it filled pay the fuck attention and you might notice next time you fucking dumbass. or you can always call the store and have them take you out of the system cause we all know you are making empty threats and still continue to go there. you're too lazy not to.
There is a number you can call 1-800-shop-cvs to get off the call list, this is a program for our customers who are older and that do need reminded that their script is ready for a refill. Yes I get that it's annoying but just call this number and you will be able to get off the call list... no reason to quit CVS!
Oh boo hoo.. little do you know that CVS is required to make those 'annoying' phone calls because we are scored on it based on corporate. If we don't do it, we have no job, how about that fatty. Stop complaining about your $1 copay and welfare check and get a job.
you poor thing I feel so sorry for you so angry and so mean and only 23 your life must be miserable i bet you were sexually abused as a child that must have been so hard on you I will pray for you you are so pathetic so imature so screwed up
Rick you have every right to be angry and so does any other thinking human. If someone wants to sign up for this program fine, I can understand an elderly person with a slow mind making great use of this but not the average person. Especially if they never signed up for it in the first place and have to spend time out of their day making phone calls to get it to stop.
The men up at corporate headquarters figured they would probably feel a little better about their job if they had an important sounding title and it would help ease the pain of looking down at their weekly pay check. But we are stupid patients? We are stupid because we voice are displeasure with being solicited?
But you know, they will continue to work there because it may be the only choice they have. Maybe Mc Donald’s wasn’t looking for any French fry techs that week and Wall Mart just hired their last shopping cart tech. Maybe taking a pharmacy test to earn the title “technician” did something for their self esteem.
Rick, I see that this video has attracted the attention of several hundred viewers as of this date. Several viewers I see have leaped to the corporate giant’s defense. Even a few clerks – excuse me “technicians” have voiced their displeasure with the program because their job includes calling people at dinner time to remind them of the obvious. They seem to resent having to deal with the harsh words directed back at their corporate master.
Of course the pharmacist himself is immune to all this because he has people to do this for him, people that are much lower in rank. Now, you can’t just have anyone counting your pills and entering your info into the data base, how would that appear to the mass public? This is where Mr. Summer’s Eve pops up again and says: let’s give them an official title that sounds professional and important. Let’s call them….. TECHNICIANS!! The room erupts with applause.
Rick you are right, these phone calls have become a huge annoyance. Back in the 60’s and 70 they had a name for people like this, they were called DRUG PUSHERS. As if the assault on the American public by the health care industry isn’t bad enough we now have to put up with this nuisance. The thing is; some upper management douche nozzle probably got a huge bonus / promotion for introducing this idea at a weekly board meeting. This campaign of solicitation is rude and shameless.
Dumbass, I bet like the rest, he still goes to CVS. Empty threats, and if by some remote chance you did leave, have no fear some other moron quickly took your place.
LMAO, the guy who made this video is the typical dumbass patient. There is a good reason why pharmacies are calling you to refill your prescription. It is called PRESCRIPTION ADHERENCE.
Wanna know why you're not getting better? It's because you're not taking your pills everyday.
If you have hypertension, or diabetes, or some other chronic disorder, YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR DOSE EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE OR YOUR CONDITION WILL DEGRADE!
Listen.. as a pharmacy technician at CVS.. we HATE the automated phone calls too. Why? Because people yell at US because of them. Trust me, if we could stop them we would. And the phone calls where it's an actual person calling you, it's our JOB. So again, don't be a prick to us because we HAVE to call you.
Frankly, I'm glad you don't come to CVS anymore. Praise the Lord.
Do you understand you can opt out of these calls? Instead of calling me obnoxious, realize that many people appreciate those calls. They are not coming from corporate , they are coming from the pharmacy that fills your prescriptions. All you have to do is say , I appreciate it but please do not call me anymore. Trust me, I would not miss a customer like you.
Hey, sign me up. I promise not to shop there too, mainly because I don"t want pills or make my hair/skin/toenails luscious stuff. But mostly to support Rick because he"s so quick!

Note, this advice is for anyone other than the guy in the video. He had his chance. :)
