Nice and simple review, thanks. Just one question: I bought the 22 version to include the rain cover and to accommodate a 12" laptop...(which is all it will take). Then of course I had to pull out the extra strap - just to check- and now I am having a heck of a time stowing all of it back into the slot, even pulling from the inside. Is there an easy way, please?
Thanks so much! Finally a woman reviewer. I've been searching all over the web for some ideas about how this bag fits on a woman's frame. Great video. Love that you unpacked it to show what goes into it. I'm 5'5" and thinking I can handle the 3N1-30 since I have a couple zooms, an ultra-wide & hopefully a grip soon. Looks like everything should fit, including a water bottle & my purse items :) I might order a detachable tripod holder, too. They probably weren't out when you reviewed this.
Sadly enough I bought this bag to later found out that was made by people in ISRAEL that also make weapons! And I don´t want to have nothing to do or collaborate with any of this, DON´T BAY THEM!
Does the bag *have* to be in 'x mode' when used as a backpack? Can it not go over without the straps crossing eachother over the chest? Kind of like an 'H' ??
also, does the medium sized bag allow enough room for a Canon 50D with battery grip and a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens?
Thanks! I got my -20 bag a little over a week ago, couldnt be happier, its gonna be such a pleasure to walk around the city with all my gear neatly organized. The straps are worth mentioning that theyre REALLY comfortable.

I bought a Kata photography bag and I really regret it since, after buying it I found out that it was made in Israel for a company that besides doing photography bags makes military items, ...and their violence is shown in their incursion on Palestinian territory, there is not doubt that they are violent people with disregard for human life, that is why I don´t bay anything from then, and I recommend not to collaborate with then and boycott their product.
The bag is great, there is one major issue. You can'bring a laptop. I typically bring a backpack as carry on for the lap top. Everything else is really great.
Excellent review. I am in the market for a sling bag. Is the 3N1 20 big enough for a Nikon D3 plus a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm? I know the 3N1 30 will be big enough but it will be too big for me. Could anyone has an answer?
im sure you'd be walking down the street in a dress with 10 pounds of photography equipment on your back. next time just wear some normal clothes and don't do it in a school
Excelent review, will buy the 3N1-30. Owned a Crumpler bag wich have good looks but its very unpractical. This one seems made by people who actually use them.
This is a really good bag, way better than Lowepro slingshots. Ive had Lowepro Slingshot300 and this. The lowepro is really painful for my shoulders as Im packing quite heavily. At the moment Im using Lowepro Inverse 200 , its a great "beltbag" if youre packing light (less than 4kg). Im often wearing my Inverse on the front which is way faster than any slingshot bag. I also have a backpack so the weight on the front doesnt really bother me.
The 3N1 series does not support carrying a laptop of any size. It's a different form factor, but I really like the Kata R-103 and DR-467 for carrying photo gear and a laptop. They aren't sling-style bags, but they work well with my Canon 30D and either my 18-300mm or 70-200mm., and one additional lens, one Speedlight, and my Lensbaby, batteries, etc.
I hope this is helpful. I'm glad you enjoyed the review. :)
Just a heads up. B&H currently has this bag for 79.95 with free shipping AND a free Kata tripod attachment (which sells for 49.95 seperately.. I don't know why it's that much) but it's a great deal since it comes with the tripod mount.
Thanks for the great review! This is exactly what I have been looking for for the past month! I initially thought the bag looked huge when you put it on but being 4'11 (and 3/4) will do that! Will be ordering mine today!
Thank you for your comment. At 4'11 (and 3/4), I make bags look HUGE. :) LOL!
I'm glad you found my review helpful. If you think of any tips or things I should have pointed out, I'd love to hear your suggestions for a follow up video.
I am actually very impressed & due solely to your review I may be buying this bag. Ever since I first saw the original Lowepro slingshot bags I wanted one for the functionality & quick-access to my camera. i mean the idea is just perfect yet I never bought one because all of the available options I've seen are way too uselessly small. I'm a bag junkie, like you & this style bag is the only gap in the line of bags I use. Thank you very much, I may even check the large version. Oh and you hot too.
LOL! Thats the great thing about this bag is the upper compartment is separate from the bottom where I store my camera. But, you're right. Generally, lotion + camera = does not match!
My question w/ the 3N1 is about the clips on the main side pockets. Are they positioned so the camera will remain held in place w/o having to close the zipper when slinging the bag back onto your shoulder? It looks like that is the idea; a nice big clip seems like the perfect solution. Another reason for not wanting to use the zippers is they typically require two hands which is sometimes not an option.
The clips will hold the pocket closed so you don't have to zip it, but the open (unzipped part) of the pocket are big enough that if you sling it around too quickly, less secure items could fly out. However, if you just zip it partially and secure one clip, you could easily open the compartment with one hand.
I actually got a hands on with this bag in Mecca (B&H) on a trip to NYC. The guy demo'd popping the clip and pulling the flap open in one motion with the zipper closed. Zipping closed i dont mind doing, unzipping was my concern (to catch the shot). Looks like this bag will fit the bill, now i just need to save for it.
If this is Liana... I'm glad ur feeling better we missed you! cheers
Thanks for the review! I have been looking all over for video of this exact bag and it has been hard to find. I just ordered mine off Amazon, $99(MSRP $149). Free shipping.
I actually will be using this for my Canon HF100 and extra equipment. I didnt like any of the other smaller bags that were out there. Plus, i wanted something i could use as a daypack.
A cool bag, not sure if I like the fact that if you need something at the bottom you have to take out the other compartments first! And what is with you guys from the US, you love your sanitizers!
@jft2112: Although there is no official tripod pocket or system on the bag, I use accessory cord and a lock to attach my Gorilla Pod to the D-rings on the bag. I suppose you could use a loop of velcro instead.
@ftpaddict: You don't have to be a girl to use this bag. It's intended for use by men or women. :)
It is great for a day out shooting. You can put lenses in the bag in the top pocket where I had my wallet, etc. Depending on the size of lenses you're using, they may fit.
Does anyone know if a 40D with a 70-300 attached lens would fit in the 3N1-20? I'm seriously considering this bag to replace a traditional backpack style for my upcoming overseas trip in mid-August. Thanks for any info!
Hi. I really enjoyed the video after narrowing a long search for a new sling bag before and for my overseas trip next month. I'm considering the M-Rock Arches and the Lowepro Slingshot 300 but then I happened on the 3N1 and I'm thoroughly intrigued. Of course, I'll need to make a decision in a few weeks... But how, if at all, would you attach a compact traditionl tripod to the 3N1? I liked the 'flexpod' on Liana's but it's not for me :) Thanks!
@jft2112: Although there is no official tripod pocket or system on the bag, I use accessory cord and a lock to attach my Gorilla Pod to the D-rings on the bag. I suppose you could use a loop of velcro instead.

That looks like an awesome bag and worth checking out when it finally comes out. I can think of one thing that is missing though. It could really use a All Weather Cover to put over it in case it rains. Unless of course the bag is already made from Waterproof materials. Is it?
xtrider: Thank you. Welcome to digital photography. I hope you have a ton of fun with it. I like the idea of having a laptop compartment, too. However, it's nice to have a svelte bag to use on a days long photo walk. The bag is narrow and not so hot to wear on your back during the summer. I do use the Kata DR-467 when I want to carry my laptop and photo gear, but I can't access my gear as easily. It's great for transport.
That´s really awsome, i´m now starting in the Digital Photography World and the Kata 3N1-20 bag it would be one of my first choices in my "to buy list" i like the swing function making easy to take out the camera, however it would be usefull a pocket for a laptop making this bag a better buy for me.. anyway it´s focus for photographers and its a great item indeed. great review though tanks

I know, but I'm looking for something a bit substantial since I carry 1 and a half systems with me all the time.
1 and 1/2 sounds weird, no? I'm talking about 2 K-mount cameras and a screwmount camera. K and M42 are related, so... Now you know.
Anyway 7 lenses don't really fit well in that bag, but it's really nice for a carry-around set-up.
