I'm glad to hear Spot is doin better and still hanging around, I have a 4 inch green spotted puffer, do you have any advice and do you have any new videos on Spot?
Are ya sure this is a GSP? He looks alot like a Tetraodon fluviatilis or Ceylon puffer. Aka a green puffer. Would explain his exceptional roundness and fin coloration. Just a thought.
I was able to keep up with everything you just typed. :) That's good to know that Spot is doing better and that he doesn't care about your corals. A 12 year old GSP in a reef tank... simply great to see!
which probably makes you wonder how he lives in there. we converted him to full saltwater in 99 i think - he was initially brackish - anyway he ate the cleaner shrimp he was living with one xmas.bad spot.. we thought we'd try him in the big tank .. hubby was warned not to try it end of corals, end of fish end of shrimp, snails.... we fig. spot is older now ... he still tries to eat the snails, shrimp is hiding from him and he doesn't care about corals.. only cares about food in his red cup :-O)
after 20 seconds he all of a sudden took a deep breath and started freaking out....not a good day for spot! anyway he of course was covered in cat hair and it was stuck in his mouth... good thing my hubby wasn't there to witness the globs of cat hair in his reef tank..yikes... anyway i put a net barrier along the back of the tank so when he startles he hits the netting and bounces back in the tank....he is one resilient fish! he'll be twelve in January 09..
he's good. he had a bit of an incident couple of months ago. i think his eyesight is going so he gets really jumpy if you walk past the tank and he doesn't know you're there. he startled, and fell out of the back of the tank (six foot drop) i heard a splat and thought the worst. i had to find the drill gun to remove the side of the tank cabinet, found him on his side (thought he was dead it had been minutes in panic mode) got him in the tank ...
