  • What song are you playing at the 1:00 mark?

  • how u plug in ure ipod to microkorg??

  • Microkorg Vocoder has robot voices? :D

  • Nice work.

  • DAFT PUNK SOUNDS AWESOME!!!

  • i need a microkorg.. :D

  • 0:22 I've got the same New York subway t-shirt

  • @Quoutub hehe, cool, you are the 3rd person to say that i think. =D

  • hah xD i have that shirt in the background! new york subway (:

  • what amp do u use

  • @geeyouknit345 it's just a cheap guitar amp from costco. nothing special.

  • What patch did you use for daft punk

  • @StrangeFolkFilms i got the settings from another youtube video of someone teaching how to do it. you can look it up.

  • what patch do you use for the last part?

  • Hey I would like to know how you made it so you could vocode the line in 2 audio on your Microkorg. I can't figure it out. Thanks!

  • Hey I would like to know how you made it so you could vocode the line in 2 audio on your Microkorg. I can't figure it out. Thanks!

  • If you just buy the microkorg does it just come with the microphone to use the vocoder or do you have to buy something else for that to work?

  • how did u doo the iPod thingg ??

  • please guest jam when we are on tour (in san fran right?)

  • i have a microkorg, but ive never used to vocoder (i have a talkbox banshee 2, so dont need to) but that ipod trick is very interesting, howd you do it? id like to use it for sampling into my kaosspad3 :3

  • for the ipod, just buy the little converter plug that goes from the 1/4 to the size of the ipod input. thats what i used. =D

  • the ipod and microcorg both use 3.5 mm inputs, make sure you buy stereo and not mono plugs ^^

  • i cant hear a thing your saying.

  • this will be like annoying maybe... but how does it cost that microkorg??

  • last time i was at guitar center, a new one was like 399 i think, but a used one or one off craigstlist or ebay would be maybe 150 to 200.

  • @meemightymouse Are you joking? 300 minium yo.

  • well, when i first bought mine, yeah i dropped 4 bills. haha

  • @meemightymouse i wish!

    more like 300 LMAO

  • Learn to play keys please.

    Thank you

  • Forgive me if you've already answered this, but how do you hook up your iPod to the microKORG? I can't figure it out, and the instructions aren't any help.

  • Yes I'd like to know this too

  • You plug it in where the mic goes.

(I'm 90% this is how you do it, I could be wrong though)

  • ok i dont have the microkorg but. at the back Audio 2 in, Under line you put in in there.OR in dynamic

  • the microkorg has both a condenser mix and a line-in port. condenser is 1/8, line in is 1/4. you can use an instrument cable with a 1/4 to 1/8 converter plug to go from ipod to microkorg.

  • wat is that song at 0:15 to 0:21 i wants to kno it sounds cool

  • yea i heard it somewhere too

  • @twofivefourlos LOLL BUT I WANA KNO WAT IT IS

  • oh idk

  • THE FIRST SONG IS... daft punk

  • you fkn retard dont call people that if they arent. and dont diss asians. im asian as well. i hate you

  • audio-in jack on Microkorg.... inputting another sound source into the Microkorg and using the jeyboard to pitch shift/arpeggiate

  • are you plugging into the Audio-In jack? also, are you able to then adjust/play pitch with that line-in... or are you using the vocoder-in for all that. sounds awesome, by the way.... am expecting my microkorg this week

  • plugging what into the audio-in jack of what? are u talkin bout the korg into a laptop? or are u talkin bout the vocoder mic? and playin the notes? gotta be more specific.

  • do you have the microkorg xl or the plain microkorg? and does the one you have have reverb and delay and stuff like that?

  • im guess its the plain one, and yes reverb and delay and like a million other things. but i always just add my reverb on garageband when i edit on the macbook cause it's easier to control and save a pattern of things.

  • awesome t-shirt in the background :)

  • thanks, got it in times square. =D

  • im getting this soon cant wait

  • this is dope. thanks

  • you are welcome. prolly the nicest comment of the day for me.. hehe so thank you.

  • i dont get why u started you vid saying that,....

  • i was bored lol, actually i dont even know why i started my vid with that either..hahaa

  • can you hook up a regular mic to the microkorg?

  • yesh

  • yea, there's a condenser mic input, dynamic mic input, and line in input

  • yes, because the original mic is horrible, like a Web mic for skype.

  • LOL, bleeding love made me laugh. i was like, I KNOW THIS SONG... WHAT IS IT.. and then i was like OH! awesome. :D.

  • Yay Daft Punk

I'm going to get one of these.

I have a drum amp but I don't think that'll work cause the mono output.

    Nice playing though.

  • how come people who make microkorg vocoder videos never tell people the settings?

  • because when i play with mine im not constantly writing down whatever im doin on a piece of paper next to me. it would kill the process in playing it for me because when i play i just like to play freely. there are few microkorg tutorial youtube channels, and sorry that mine isnt a tutorial. if i had the time and the patience then i might, but i guess i havent.

  • who needs patience when u hav passion

  • did you link your microkorg to a guitar amp? please, dont do it again :/

  • whats so wrong with hookin up to a guitar amp? i kno it will be only mono but are u sayin that it can damage the korg or something?

  • nope, it will be fine, maybe it could shorten its life because of unmatched impedances of korg out/amp in, but its rare thing. Thing is amp has specific cabinet whitch is not flat characteristic, but matched for guitar to sound nice. You cant hear your korgs nuances and shades if you dont get full spectrum of frequences, nor make ones. Maybe im overreacting, but i think you better play on headphones or even a pc speakers.

  • Of course, sometimes keys want to be attached to guitar amp to get guitarish sound, but no all the if you want to have good quality. Sorry for my english :(

  • aww i see, yeah i get you with the shades and nuances thing cause the guitar has a mono input when the korg has a left and right output. yeah itll sound much better with headphones and or pc speakers, but i just used the amp when i want it loud. but thanks for the tip.

  • did you change the settings for the vocoder?

can you tell me them if thats so

    5*

  • yes you can

  • I'm getting a MicroKorg XL in 2 weeks <3

    I'm hyped!

  • lucky im getting the microkorg (not xl) and im excited :DDD

  • me too! :D

btw, did you get your microkorg?

  • No, I decided NOT to get one. Tried one and didn't like it that much. I'm going to buy a proper workstation, either a Korg M50 or a Roland Juno-Stage.

  • Yes, but price price price! :-) I don't have that much money!

I did try the XL out once though and was blown away. Very digital-sounding (at least the presets I tried) but in a good way - cuts through very well.

For cheap analog I'd settle with a Mopho, if you can stand the lack of knobs... but it's kinda unpredictable, so not for everyone.

  • Seriously cool. I'm getting the MS2000 because I can't stand the mini-keys XD

  • you could just get a midi controller, rather than blowing all that money on another synth.

  • I don't have the Microkorg, which is why I'm getting the MS2000 (more features for same price). At least was thinking of getting it, but I realised my Blofeld makes pretty much the same sounds so I might track down an Alesis Fusion instead.

But yeah, if you don't need something that runs on batteries the MS2000 is just a better deal.

  • The MS2000 sounds like a great little synth, but many newer ones can create similar sounds anyways. Im picking up the Microkorg XL soon, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good analogue- ish sound.

  • can i hook music recordin mic up to the micro korg to get the vocoder effect.

  • yes you can but it has to be a jack not a xlr cable

  • Hey, do you think i can play the daft punk part on korg R3 ?

  • dude you've got awesome shibby skills.

    :DD

ughh I need a micro sooo badd.

  • how do you hook up the ipod?, just aux?

  • you are cool

  • Can you tell me how much one of these would cost? I would REALLY like to own one! I have a question about the vocoder, can you keep clean vocals and change the pitch, or do you have to change the vocals?

  • Korg microkorg costs $400 new.

  • hey, does that vocoder only work like a talkbox or can also you sing into it w/o doing the keyboard thingy?

  • this is the girl fron hi-5!

  • umm, what's hi-5? i think you have me mistaken..

  • Dude, you are totally in hi-5!

  • lol i know its a joke. but u are correct about not being so sure... =D

  • lol, oh man this video is not up to date to how i look now. haha, funny comment tho. single pringle fo life!!!

  • I want a microKORG so bad!!!

  • yay not the gay ruined kanye west massacre of daft punk

  • heh nice. cant stand leona lewis but it sounds way better with vocoder. kinda ironic cause it sounds like a robot singin bout love....and blood which it doesnt have

  • can you explain to me how to remove the vocals from a song that is on my ipod?

or at least tone them down so my voice overrides the original vocals.

    thanks.

  • id suggest downloadin instrumentals of the songs u wanna mess with. the microkorg isnt really for editing songs.

  • where do you live? join our band!

  • no problem =].

what port do you plug the ipod into?

    the condencer port or line?

    x

  • And! get a MIDI to usb connector for the micrkorg. can make some crazy sounds through the computer :)

  • nice, thanks for the tip.

  • can i use a 3.5mm standard headphone jack( not 1/4 jack ) which my computer speakers have the 3.55m jack fits in ipods and psp etc... Can i use the 3.5mm jack speakers to play sounds on the micro korg or do i need to adapter of the 3.55m to 1/4 jack?

  • 3.5m*

  • yes you need a 3,5 cable and a 3,5 to 1,4 adapter but you probably found out by now

  • hey another good way of making your voice vocode properly..use a programme calles...autotune!

it vocodes alot better than my microkorg.

  • How are you recording this? On the video, I can still slightly hear your real voice picking up somewhere.

  • i just have a digital camera set up on a tripod... so thats why my voice is still heard.. im tryin to save for an external soundcard, so i can just put the vocoding sounds straight into my computer instead of havin to record it this ghetto way.

  • The microkorg computer like mic sucks. i bought a proper mic, and it makes a hell of a difference, picks up your voice more. oh yea a good sound! Vintage/hiphop Tweak #2!

    xx

  • amazing.!

do you have the notes for Harder, Better, Faster stronger?

  • buy a talk box

  • a vocoder is for ppl that dont like sticking tubes in their mouth.

  • plus you make beats

  • hey pretty cool video! ... i have yet to use my one to its full advantage lol

not many girls in the audio industry :( ... at least at school anyways

    keep learning!

    -jobatone

  • hey i have shirt in the back ground

  • I've seen all your microKORG vids and you're so good, it makes me wanna have a little duel with you just to see what other things you got up your sleeve haha. You got skills and you showed me some new things so thanks too:)

  • this is very cool. i have a microkorg and worked out how to play kanye west and leona lewis from your video haha. what is the dashboard song? it's been in my head since watching this video! anyway keep it up these are cool!

  • Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down

  • how do u hook up the synth??and can you hook this up to a mac?

  • cool

  • sweet! im guna buy a Microkorg tomorrow!

should spice up my mixes real good.

    kool vdeo.

  • chineese xD

  • im actually only 1/16th chinese. lol, and that 1/16th went straight to my eyes. haha

  • u need alot of practice, but with practice comes perfection why waste your time with the vocoder just plug a heil talkbox or banshee 2 your korg and get funkky lol ;)

  • ive been wanting one of those for awhile, hehe. just havent got around to doing so, even tho the quality of the vocoder isnt that great, it serves its purpose when i need to kill time. haha

  • Heyyy !!!

Hello from MONTERREY NL MEXICO !

    Thanks for your video...

I have to get one of this !

    Yeaa !!

  • very nice! certainly convinced me to buy one....but can you connect to odinary speaks from like pc speakers and also when u plug in ur ipod can u actually change the pitch of whtever song comes out?

  • as for speaker connections as long as u have the right cords and adapters im sure you hook up. and yes when i plug in my ipod, i can change the pitch for whatever song plays.. when u input the ipod, you can have it continuously playing or only have sound when you hit a key, and any effect or change in settings on the korg will change pitch, resonance, resolution, grain, reverb,.. all that stuff.

i think i'll post a video about plugging in the ipod. seems like a few people are curious about it.

  • how do you connect a i pod??

  • she didnt connect the ipod to the synth. she plugged in her ipod to a pair of speakers and moved the mic over to the speakers to get the sound to come out of it.

  • i did connect my ipod to the synth. and the only thing connected to my amp is my synth, not my ipod. the ipod can be directly connected to the korg as an input.

  • hmm..well alright then! glad we cleared that up.

  • next time, you should probably let the person who posted the video answer the question about their video. it's not too smart to make assumptions based on what you "think" you see. i dont like reading about what people said i did when in fact they are totally wrong and i didnt do anything that they said at all. like how would you really know? were you here when i made the video? sorry, it's just annoying.

  • ill be more careful next time then...goodness

  • i know how to use a talkbox, but with a vocoder do you actually just talk and play?

  • pretty much. talk and play the notes.

  • :O

    thats super cool :O

    haha

i am going to get one soon :)

  • hmm um stupid question, does your voice have to be on key for it to sound right?

  • Nope. You can just talk and it processes the timbre of your voice through the pitch and sound of the note you're playing.

  • $400 is expensive lol but imma work on getting it... btw thanks for the demo 5/5 +fav

  • It is alot of money but I recently bought one and I am telling you it is a great investment. I had to not eat lunch for 3 months and work my ass off for extra cash but it was definitely worth it.

  • ive been thinking of buying a microkorg.

but $400 is expensive for me :/

  • its definitely fun if u play the piano or keyboard. for me its worth the money. i find myself making new rhythms and sounds and messing and tweeking already recorded audio. once u tinker around with it and learn more, its worth the money.

  • well im not saying that its not worth it. its that money is hard to come up with. and yeah its fun coming up with random beats on synthesizers, ive played a vintage synth before and it was fun :] and i want to study from it.

  • Micro Korgs aren't really great.

Get the Alesis micron for the same price

or the Korg R3 which is what I might get for just $150 more

  • are you in a band?

  • Yeah. I play guitar. why?

  • eh just wondering.

ive been wanting to make a band. or join one.

  • nicce!

  • your version is better !! << hi !!

  • thank you, which version of what song are you talking about. =)

  • hey what are the settings you used for the last song on the vocoder?

  • pick the vocoder bank. hit number 4 then hit SHIFT 3, then 3 again this gives it a raw sound...

  • hi !! what's the song at 1.00m ? thank's !

great your microkorg and your demo !

  • the acoustic version of "Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional. =D
