  • I end up with rained on camera all the time, but if the rain decides to get heavier my shirt becomes a mobile rain coat and I become a running maniac looking for shelter =) Over $4000 worth of gear I really don't want to have to replace =)

  • Poor D300 :,(

  • what software was used to create video? and also, great screen name!

  • how about the lens?

  • in response to the "best camera" debate goig on here: the best camera is the camera that works best for you. lets quit the brand bashing & superiority complexes and just take great photos.

  • Just might mention, took my D80 up ben nevis and it wound up just as wet if not wetter and survived also :D

  • I just wanted to say, Devin, that this might be one of the best composed videos, in general, here on youtube.

    Well done.

  • aren't d300s meant to be waterproof to a certain extent (rainproof)

  • Which is exactly the point, but most amateurs are too afraid to use them to their full potential. And I do see myself as an amateur...

  • If you want a real professional grade wide angle then the only option is the Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8g. Buy the glass now and get the camera later. Glass lasts much longer than camera tech which will be obsolete in another two years.

  • canon and nikon are very much alike I mean there both the best companies in photography dont know why people slam nikon or canon. and man canon does not suck but neither does nikon

  • yeah i agree with that, and it really comes down to is your personal feel for the camera, and canons get in my way when i am trying to photograph. they aren't bad cameras, they are just sucky cameras for me and my uses.

  • Nothing wrong with personal preference. I prefer canons because it's what I'm used to, Nikons seem fairly complicated by the way they work for me. I can't change anyway, I've too many lenses.

  • Neither Canon or Nikon are the best photography companies. Hasselblad is, its like the rolls-royce of the camera world. Also probably most expensive, and the only use I can see for it is for professionals, and for rich ass posers.

  • I'd probably say Leica are. Hassleblads are only used for mostly studio use since their digital backs don't go up to high ISOs.

  • Thats what i was going to say! haha

Nikon and Canon are good, and i use a D300, but nothing compares to Hassy, not even Leica shledron.

  • Hey there, may I ask again?

What lens is it? Cuz I was watching it again just now and it doesn't seem to have a rubber ring thing at the back of the lens :\ is it 50 1.8 or something like that?

  • hahah nice :)

btw wat's the title of the song @ 0.56sec? thks

  • Well that song would be New Order's "Who's Joe". If you like that song, then I would HIGHLY recommend listening to some of their other songs such as "Crystal", "60 miles an Hour" and "Waiting for the Siren's Call". Those are some of New Order's more recent songs. However, you should hear "Blue Monday" or "Bizarre Love Triangle" to listen to some of their older music. I personally like all of their songs, every single one is different and has it's own character with it's own meaning.

  • thanks a lot hehe..

  • I just want to ask, which of Nikon's lens has moisture proof?

  • basically any of the newer AF-S lenses have a moisture seal at the rear of the lens but that doesn't mean the rest of the lens is. All the new AF-S lenses plus the 70-200, 17-55 and pretty much all the super tele's going back to the AF-I lenses.

  • All of you are idiots if you think this is going to destroy his camera.

It's an upper class camera and Nikon built it with weather sealing too prevent it from getting ruined from rain/dust.

  • hhaha thank you! i was a little worried about the 80-200 which isn't weather sealed but it is extremely tough so i took my chances and i didn't have a problem. now i have homemade cover for the 80-200 (just covers the focus and zoom ring) and that works great.

  • Haha, sweet deal man.

I had a choice between a D300 and D90 for christmas, and I got the D90. I wanted a D300 because of the 51 point AF system, weather sealing and of course the magnesium alloy body. Oh well, My D90 still kicks ayus

  • yeah i would kind of like a D90 now because of the HD movie bit but i found it hard going from a more "pro" body feel back to the consumer D70s feel. so i sold my beloved D70s and replaced it with a D2H!

  • Woah, dude you traded A D70s for a D2H?!

    That's sweet!

  • well i got like 300 bucks for my D70s and a used D2H is between $500-800 so i only paid about $300 for a much better camera

  • That is sweet!

  • Your amazingly brave!

  • OMG is that real H2O

  • umm... yeah, why wouldn't it be?

these cameras are meant to handle these 'harsh' environments. it's part of the reason why i shoot D300 and D2H and not with D40s and what not.

  • You're a horrible person.

    lol
