Yeah. just picture an anvil (light infantry) being smashed by the hammer (cavalry). If you look at it in a literal sense it becomes much clearer.

Your fighting group is the anvil

The enemy group is something on the anvil

Your Hammer are groups that attack from the back it doesnt really have to be cavalry

The demo's bugged, it took me like 2 mins to load a map. And ur gpu might not be too great, tell me ur graphics card and I'll help u out some more.

Nah, Up here in Canada we got seriously fucked with Empire shipments, dunno why but they haven't come in, well here in montreal anyway. I'll probably end up downloading it off steam.

And try to check for anything by the names of "ATI" or "nVidia" in ur system and send me ur video card make, I'll help u out.

Any (512 mb) graphics card is good for the game on high settings, as well as any quad core processor. make sure u have at least 3 gigs RAM also.

Both times, but they'll still keep fighting if their respective general dies. Usually units run when they're getting raped.

The AI is somewhat scripted in the demo, so I'm sure the AI is better in the fill game.

Oh, what units do the British and Americans have; Roger's Rangers, Morgan's Riflemen, and how do they illustrate segregated units (are black or white units better and why)? I don't have the game and probably won't have it 'til I transfer to a CSU. I'm an engineer major and I only have a laptop.

I'd be interested in seeing how you grapple with other ships, if "continuous fire" (or fire by rank) is possible (on their site it mentions platoon fire), and if making breast works, obstructions, or climbing trees to fire from is possible (american riflemen would do this to avoid bayonets and sabres). Thx for the compliment, and ya you can choose alot on how your units fire, eg. platoon fire, square formation. and ya they cant climb trees or it would be awesome if they could. The americans have minutemen and basic line infantry in this vid and one thing I noticed is that every unit in the demo is caucasian, a bit historically innaccurate.

Thank you, I look foward to seeing some more gameplay of yours. The game looks exciting and wonder if there are penalties for withdrawing from battles like Rome Total War. However, in this era guerrilla warfare is vital and Nathaniel Greene (American General) won the war in the south without having a tactical victory (all loses) although a subordinate of his won one battle before illness forced him to retire. Nathaniel won by keeping his army alive and harrassing the enemy.

Suggestion: Once you've got the game I'd like to a well rounded American & British army vs a French one; a kind of what if America helped to fight Napolean scenario.

Also an American "Flotilla" vs British ships. America really didn't have a navy for a good while. I just wonder how it's represented in the game, Americans did do well against the French during the Quasi War; with the British allowing us to use their carribean ports for resupply of course.

Cavalry can dismount (dragoons only) and light infantry can kneel and do have some level of battlefield stealth. There is suppresion fire as well from infantry and artillery.

Thanks, do you know if the inaccuracy, miss fire, poor metal casting, weathering, and unreliable fuses play a part in this game? Shell shot is devastating, but if the fuses arent doing there jobs then the artillery pieces do very little damage. At the Battle of Monmouth Courthouse, the British tried to use shell shot but it failed. This helped in giving the Americans their first (though insignificant) and only real tactical victory while standing toe to toe with British regs in the open.

I'm not sure on weather effects but the empire PR director said that rain/snow/fog has a huge effect on fire time, ability, and accuracy.
