The way I look at it there is clear progression for electronic music through history. The three fundamental techniques that have been the basis for modern electronica are Looping from musique concrete, Remixing which started in Jamaica and the pioneering Synth work of Kraftwerk. All of these techniques are essential to electronica and so to deride any one of them is to invalidate your own work or the music you listen to.

Of course this represents music... this is the history of all the music you listen to today. It's the ancestor of house music, techno, computer based music, anything that uses technology to stretch, speed up or modify sounds. pierre schaeffer was an artistic pioneer.
