That's because developers see the priority of the Wii and they want to make a quick buck off of some bad, party, shovelware title. Haven't you noticed that the Wii has so many more games as the 360/PS3? Crack load of shovelware. So that comment is kind of flawed.
I don't think it's the developers' fault that all of the game are bad. It's the hardware that Nintendo provided. The Wii controller is cool and all, it's obviously the 'hook' of the console, but when developers want to make a serious game, the Wii isn't powerful enough to allow it!
I think it is. Look at the conduit, brawl, call of duty 5, guitar hero and rock band. All of those developers seemed to make good games on the wii why can't the others? The developers act as if the wii isn't the same thing as the ps3 and xbox that they can't make a good game. In my opinion the developers are just lazy and they don't want to figure out how the wii works or take advantage of its technology.
I can see your reasoning, but considering I'm an indie developer for the XNA platform and C++ (I haven't made anything that works yet), and my knowledge of how buggy working with PS3 is from the internet, I can tell that it is hard enough to go from 360 to PS3. I'm sure developers would be willing to do this considering both of these are really powerful, however, after their hard work at converting these, I'm sure devs don't have enough time to downsize a game for Wii AND meet the release date.

And the ps3 having littlbigplanet.
But the wii is more taking old games from older gen consoles like mario and making it look like a new game.

Its a casual arcade system from the 6th gen.

Yeah, I agree there's way to many casual games for the wii. I think the wii needs more games like brawl. At least new super mario bros. wii is coming out soon. But really, Carnival games wii? Wii sports? Why don't they just get it out of there system and make wii fundamentals so we can get back to playing games we actually enjoy.

Yeah, I agree. A video game system should be made for one reason, and one reason only, and that is to play video games.
You can watch DVDs, VHS Tapes, Blueray movies, as well as go on the Internet (to watch movies and TV shows).
You can listen to music with CDs, Ipods, MP3s, on TV, or even on the Internet.
Why waste your time putting them on a video game system when they are everywhere else.

Nintendo sucks. Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime (the head Nintendo guy for America) fucked all of the "non-casual gamers" up the ass by seeing the Wii's success with the "casual" market and pretty much saying, "Nope, fuck you!" to the "hardcore" gamers and letting every game developer and their mother make a shitty shovelware collection of stupid minigames.

And there are more than just that, but I can't think of anymore right now. 2009 actually looks like a good year for the Wii, way better than 2008.

I don't think it's the developers' fault that all of the game are bad. It's the hardware that Nintendo provided. The Wii controller is cool and all, it's obviously the 'hook' of the console, but when developers want to make a serious game, the Wii isn't powerful enough to allow it!

I think it is. Look at the conduit, brawl, call of duty 5, guitar hero and rock band. All of those developers seemed to make good games on the wii why can't the others? The developers act as if the wii isn't the same thing as the ps3 and xbox that they can't make a good game. In my opinion the developers are just lazy and they don't want to figure out how the wii works or take advantage of its technology.

I can see your reasoning, but considering I'm an indie developer for the XNA platform and C++ (I haven't made anything that works yet), and my knowledge of how buggy working with PS3 is from the internet, I can tell that it is hard enough to go from 360 to PS3. I'm sure developers would be willing to do this considering both of these are really powerful, however, after their hard work at converting these, I'm sure devs don't have enough time to downsize a game for Wii AND meet the release date.
