  • Asses to the wind ,when Vietnam was on these punks ass in the Glory DAZE only to exploit for the blind to pay.

  • I dont like when people compare the two. Theres no comparison. Ive seen 136 Bruce shows and hope to someday hit the 200 mark. Bruce is still making great albums and putting on legendary shows. I know so many people that have seen Bruce at least 100 times. No one goes to 100 Billy shows. Dont get me wrong, Billy has some good songs but there is no one in history on Bruces level.

  • What lousy seats. I mean, you had to crane your neck to look up and all. MSG is such a big place, you would think you could have done better.... ;)

  • where did this happen and when?? what a great concert it must´ve been. By the way...Bruce is good...like his voice and BORN TO RUN is my fav song...but don't compare him to Mr. Billy Joel, the piano man is SUPERIOR. Bruce Springsteen wished to had songs like : UPTOWN GIRL, PIANO MAN, NEW YORK STATE OF MIND, RIVER OF DREAMS, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, STILL ROCK N ROLL, etc.

  • @mhvr85 My friend, Billy Joel is not in the same league as Bruce. Bruce is a much better songwriter, performer and all around musician. The songs you mentioned dont compare to the hundreds of Bruce classics like Jungleland, Ghost Of Tom Joad, Darkness, The RIver, The Rising and they just keep coming....

  • @tjoad951 it's my taste, I play piano...and I still recognize bruce as one of the legends of the music world....but admit that billy's songs have been more comercial, more covered and more successfull. Billy is by far a better musician as well, any pimp can go on stage and play a guitar...in the 80's and now as well....but only a few play piano and succeed. Whatever you say about Bruce...Billy does better. And don't tell me the songs I mentioned don't compare...PIANO MAN beats them ALL.

  • If Bruce is a better performer, but Billy is by far a better musician

  • @54HUTCHmister54 In Billys dreams

  • @tjoad951 I think Billy is a better pianist than Bruce is a guitarist. They're both great though.

  • Billy Joel looks bored as hell. Pretty strange to see him behind a guitar too.

  • @Markworth Billy has played guitar on a few of his tracks, the biggest being "Matter Of Trust". He plays the rhythm, not the lead.

  • woah yeh! give it to em boys!

  • Do they like each other? i assume there must have been some inter-label rivalry back in the 70s and 80s.

  • William is better than You think and Bruce was nervous singing with him because of his immense and supiror record sales ability

    y

  • @opendtuning

Nervous? Bruce has sold over 130 Million records and counting. "Billy is still twice Bruce has won 19 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globe awards, 1 Academy Award-Also is in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Song Writers Hall of Fame. Billy Joel has only 6 Grammy awards. Billy has no golden globe-No Academy award. Bruce has had the more impressive career period the end.

  • that is because Bruce plays the ususal very common script of music that is hugely popular in a country which can have some of the highest record sales in the world ie the US and that genre of music is rock a tried and true formulae that You cannot go wrong also Billy is not a prolific churner out of music either ie no basement tapes...and his record sales are just as good as the Boss!!!

  • Common script? Give me a break. Wheres Billys new material? He has not had nothing to say now for the past 16 years. there is some thing to be said of longevity. Bruce is a 60yrs old and still sells out staduims not just in US, Nationwide. Bruce has sold just as many records outside of the US as well. Billy also plays rock n roll music just in case you have not noticed. Bruce also appeals to all generations. Good luck for billy next album

  • Billy has not had that many albums of original material released in his carreer but still has sold well over a 100 million copies not too many to mention albums like Bruce...that has to be admired!!!

  • I have seen billy 7 times in concert and bruce 12-Bruce blows billy clear out of the water when it comes to a live concert. Not to mention bruce just received the Kenndey Center Honors Award. I have my opinion & you have yours. Bruce is a Legend and does not need to be defended by me or anyone else. I said my peace-have a great day-

  • @kobe9985

yeah but bruce has really lost it. he always sounds tired and most of his concerts involve politics. i dont want to hear about that crap at a music concert

  • Congradulations on having an opinion just like me. Nothing more then your opinion. Billy Joel does not even come close to The Boss as a live performer. I have seen Billy 6 times live he does not com close to Bruce. Not to mention Bruce has more grammy awards then anyone alive. No excuses as to why Billy does not have this award or that award, he did not win cause someone was better. Bruce has lost it? give me a break he sells out every where he goes. No excuses. Cheers

  • @kobe9985 billy has sold over 150 million. and personally billy is a better singer. and he doesnt have a golden globe or academy award because he has never wrote any gay hippie music for gay movies like philidelphia about fags with aids. but i still like bruce

  • Billy can't play the guitar. He basically has said that in interviews!

  • @funshipM174 He does play guitar, just not as well as keyboards. He plays an electric/acoustic on 'Goodnight Saigon'. He also uses guitar for songwriting, 'The Entertainer' and 'A Matter Of Trust' were written on guitar.

  • @spgpcpbp

I am a big Billy fan since the 70s and you are correct about the songs written on the guitar by Billy as he has mentioned that over the years, but in regards to paying it ( in his words) the sound crew turns the guitar channels down most of the way.

I've been hearing that these last several years of touring solo ( and I am guessing with Elton) that his piano is really an Electric type of Piano within the body of the grans. Is that crazy or is it possible?

    Thanks

  • @funshipM174 Good to talk to another Billy Joel fan. I'm not sure if it's an electric Piano or not, I guess it is technically possible. I don't know why the sound crew turn the guitar channels down, He plays solo acoustic on 'The Times They Are A Changin' and 'The Siegfried Line' (which is a demo). He plays the chords quite heavily, but otherwise ok. I've heard a lot worse.

  • @funshipM174 It is not crazy.....and it is possible. many musicians do that with their keyboards today......even EJ (but only occasionally)

    peace

  • @funshipM174 Its very possible. infact, he does. Billys piano is a Kurzweil.

  • Billy and Bruce are my all time favorites, but I play better guitar than Billy (and I've never picked one up in my life).

  • billys the piano man! not the guitar man

  • holy god i would have shat myself if i were present for this

  • way to let billy have a microphone! lol

  • thank you for posting. this show so needs to be put out on dvd!!!!

  • The Boss and The Piano Man...pure awesomeness

  • and SaMolvc, thanks for posting - sounds great. i bet it was a blast to be there, you lucky dog. any chance you'd post a full song? : )

  • alyse1969,

I've been to 140 Springsteen shows, and this was in the top 5, thrilling...Bruce-Billy-Barack...John Legend and India Arie, too...sorry the clips are so short...I wanted to enjoy the show so I couldn't shoot complete songs...I will post 10th Ave Freeze-out later this week and you will see when Bruce walked in front of me I reached out to try to bump fists with him and the video gets video gets lost for 10 seconds...glad to share the night with all to see.

    -SaMolvc

  • My favorite is actually on a video not posted any longer. Billy was playing "Allentown" and Bruce came to the mic and sang the part "Spend their weekends on the Jersey shore"

That's Priceless! I would love to see that again!

  • McCain supporter and Bruce and Joel fan! Regardless of party affiliation, let's give Barack a chance and see what happens... I know the last 8 years haven't been easy. Bush did keep his vow though after 9.11 to keep us safe here at home! I pray Obama can do the same!

It seems Bush and Obama are working together to make the switch as easy as possible! God Bless America, and God Bless these 2 fine artists! And Billy looks good for his age in his own way "cflynn1979".

  • freeze it about 18 seconds in and you have the perfect show of what my dream concert is

  • Holy crap Bruce aged way better than Billy

  • Really weird to see Billy on guitar.

  • Right on mcgurkryans....That's the first thing I thought too. THE Piano Man on guitar. Totally cool.

  • Actually, Billy would play rhythm each time he played Matter of Trust at his shows.

  • Glory day for America only if Obama get's election.

  • Curiosísimo verlos a los dos juntos

  • America's Glory Days are just around the corner. You wait and see.

  • Try telling that to the senior citizens that are retired and are about to get their taxes increased even more to pay for those who want the government to do everything for them. See what they say. God help us these next 4 years.

  • oh, that's original. Are you running for office?

  • Yes, I am running for office!!! My first name is Joe and my middle name Patrick. I might throw my name in with the Republicans for 2012!!! "JP" '08!!! How does that sound?

  • Actually, I mean't "JP '12 !!!, but how does that sound?

  • mackela, where the hell have you been living for the last 8 years, you freaking moron??? look outside your freaking window, you windbag. it probably can't get worse, you sore freaking loser. we're in the worst shape we've been in since the great depression; ever heard of that, doofus??? who do you think got us there??? YOUR FUCKING PARTY. no one except the fabulously wealthy will do worse under an obama administration. so get the hell over yourself and STFU.

  • The Democratic, yes the Democratic party got us here, they have controlled congress for 40 years!!! I never hear any blame assigned to them whatsoever!!! That is hard to except knowing that I am probably the most sain person on here. If we have Glory Days in 2017 I will be more than willing to apologize to you for my "moronic comments"!!! You really should apologize to me for calling me a windbag, but I won't name the other names since I don't call people names over the internet.

  • First of all, Repubs held the majority for a good deal of the 90's. Secondly, if you want your opinion to be taken seriously, learn how to spell first.

  • Republicans have controlled Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Judiciary for most of the last eight years.

  • The Democrats had controlled congress from 1955 to 1995. This is why we had the economic problems we had in the late 1970s. Right now it is not nearly as bad as it was then. We experienced a mild recession in 2001 and 2002.

it got worse again in 2007, because of the Democratic Congress. It would have been worse if it hadn't been for Reagan!!! Good day

  • Your grasp of economics is embarrassing at best. In the last eight years alone, median family income for the middle class has decreased by more than $2,000, while millions have dropped in to poverty and millions more lost health insurance. Oh, and Mr. Reagan? he began the Reaganomics platform that effectively destroyed the middle class. Our society now is as unequal as it was in the 1920s, a feat unprecedented in the modern world.

  • Reagan was also a big believer in deficit spending. Like most Rebulicans they only know how to "conserve" for their own bottom line.

  • And, I should also mention, that in 1980, before Reagan took over our economy, the US was the world's largest and most powerful exporter and CREDITOR. Now, we are the largest importer and DEBTOR, while our manufacturing base and working class is in shambles. Um...you were saying? The proof of Reaganomics is in the pudding, and if anything good comes of this Mini-Depression, it'll be the death of a hopelessly flawed economic theory.

  • Too short,but great
