i believe the towel trick completely resets your console, therefore your console needs re-find what was wrong with it in the first place. That's why it's only temporary. Peace Out, Mates!
yeah it does not work you guys it breaks the av cable , i tried it and i left the screen on and like outa no where picture was gone and it just broke the av cable if you any problems just call microsoft and have them repair it because this is bull shit
Not sure quite what you mean when you "left the screen on", but did you leave the AV cable plugged in while you were "cooking" your 360, because I'm sure that's probably not a good idea...
It's definitely a risky strategy to try and bring a machine to life, but it works suprisingly often it would seem...
i'm sure it varies from machine to machine (just like how long you have until it first red rings...), but Steve's lasted a decent while... although I don't think he played any more on it and just traded it in or something, not sure what happened with it.
It's probably not a permenant solution, but in this case I think it was a great way to fix a problem Microsoft won't fix, and then if that develops into a red ring problem, then it can be fixed... such a complicated process!
well im still gonna send mine off because I found out from friends that it only worked for a bit and it worsens, my mate did it so much they had to send him a new xbox.
um i think u did it wrong do it like this it will last faster turn it on wrap it in 3 towels for 25 mins then u should see 2 red blinking light wich means it is major over heated turn it off let it cool then ur good for a next 2 weeks i have my own elite in my room but my 60 gb x box 360 i do this 2 every 2 weeks

at this point, it's probably worth a shot
can't take the blame if it doesn't work, but hey, if it's broken to start with, it's gotta be worth a go, right?
