a little late, but it's actually a dialect choice that makes all the difference, he chooses to use more closely descriptive words, but he states the meaning of the song more subtly, therefore even though he's descriptive, the song may still be interpreted in different ways... you just gotta keep practicing, it gets you eventually, and you will love what you write after you get past the child block. :)

Yeah I know these, but 2 is not true, they sound almost the same, for example A with an E shape barre (barre at 5th fret) have the same notes as the A: x02220, just you have another A note at 1st string, 5th fret. That's better... 1 is true, everyone knows that, but 3 is true partially, you can hammer or anything else, I often do that if I do A or E shape 9, 6, 4 chords, and sometimes I do that with the sevens too... It's just practising, and your little finger will be strong.

No, it wouldn't sound different, just he'd pick in another order, for example, the C with the capo on the third fret, it's D#. If he plays it with barre, on G string he plays eighth fret, which is the same as the fourth fret on B string, and he plays that. So the capo doesn't do anything, just prove that you're not fantastic on guitar, and you don't like challenges...

(Another: I think G and C are better with barre anyway, because then you have better chords...)
