Excellent! I really like the lyric qualities of your tone... I also noticed the obvious timbre changes between the first and second parts of the song where you went from hating this young woman to realizing you loved her... I would love to see you bring out the text even more!!! color those words to let us know what they mean to you ie "Pain" OR "sMASH". watch the Cflat on "SHINE"(2:43) that you resist nasality and create a more round tone. bravo!
I was trying to decide between this song and She's My Love. The fantastic way you sang this song made Her Face my first choice. Awesome job. Now I am anxious to see what you have done since.
I have to be impressed he chose this song of all things. It is one of the most bravura pieces in Broadway musical history and demands fine technique, true feeling and internal anger and frustration. And the hurt of a man who has lived his life with a disability he has tried to hide. I'd say Stearns certainly measured up to the challenge. More ease on stage will come in time but he certainly has dressed big time here!
This is EXACTLY the way the song is done in the show (take it from someone who's DONE the role)...normally the first section that he sings so fast is omitted. If I recall (I did the role in 1974!!) the song immediately follows him irrationally slapping her. He's angry...justifying in his mind the slap...and then realizes that in fact he has fallen in love with her despite the huge difference in age and his own infirmity and bitterness. It's a beautiful moment and VERY nicely done.
hm. It is well! But, at points it was going too fast! This isn't your fault at all, for one. This is the paino's. I love your tone! And your pitch is right on target! And that suit is very snazzy on you too! :-) The ending, was very well too! Breathing needs a bit of work. Your panting at some points. Maybe it's just the song choice? Regurdless, amazing job!

i wish you sang the begining slower... it makes so much more sense and it's more affective when it's sung a little bit slower...
but you have a very good voice.. watch your breath support..
