I'm a huge gnr fan. It's beyond me that I missed what a great talent Izzy was and still is. I guess I had my eyes on Slash & Duff so much, LOL. Izzy is AWESOME!
The first :53 seconds are from the Harley Davidson "Better" video.
The slide-show that ends at 1:20 is from Adler's Appetite's Appetite for Destruction 20th Anniversary celebration in July 2007. Duff and Izzy joined Adler's band for a set.
Izzy may be the most underated guitarists EVER! he was however, the most essential heart and soul of guns n' roses, and when he left, things fell apart...hes such an amazing songwriter
@curdog602 and for some reason they never wrote another song after he left, all they released were covers...(until chinese democracy, which made a lot of people wish axl had stuck to covers)
Izzy's always had a unique ear for music. I've always liked his style of acoustic playing- the rough, dirty agression and sincerity, more than the great abundance of generic chick-picking out there. Slides make a difference.
dude i could not agree more after 1991 their songs wasent as good because he wrote alot of big hits like sweet child of mine and there wasent alot of rythom with out him
I agree with jimmaaaa. When Izzy left, the band fell apart very quickly. Axl was the voice of Gn'R, Slash was the soul, but Izzy was the heart! He is a great songwriter and arranger. Axl has struggled without his help.
People said the same shit about Patience when it came out... It's acoustic rock with slide lead. If you have to put a label on it, it's folk more than anything. Izzy could piss on the microphone and while slapping his dick on the guitar and it'd be more intellectual than you lowlifes.. EveryONes a Critic!!!
i know im ganna get bitched at for this... but izzy really went the wronge derection with his music... this is more of a contrey song he used to LIVE for rock and roll. sorry for the nasty comment. but its the truth
yeah i know what you mean, but i would say that this is more than JUST country music, this is more like early rock and roll like the expirimental stuff the Beatles did or even The Who ad stuff, but that my take
Yes. Press and information workin on guns around '90s should ask for excuse both to Izzy and the fans ... In truth, Izzy was the real genius behind GNR grooves & musical poetry
this is definetly your soul singing and playing...even though this tune has some melancholy vibe, it resembles more of that freedom of detachment from bad things that came with the good and that is glorifying! fav tune!
yea man.. Izzy's really cool.. he did lots for GnR and didn't get all that much publicity and acclaim.. most ppl only know Slash and Axl.. but Izzy was a great contribution.. as were all band members
Yea I was thinking about that too That Izzy should join Vetvet Revolver but I don't think that he would want that kind of fame again. And I Really like his voice but don't think that it's strong enough to carry VR and I don't think that he would want to sing Axl's songs even though he wrote most of them
I'm glad that Izzy left GnR. Sure, they were a great band but his solo stuff is just fucking amazing!

Ever wondered how many great tunes theyd make if Guns stuck together, Theyd be there with the Stones and Aerosmith.

what song was gnr performing at the end?
wommaster 2 years ago
The older video that comes first is "Goodnight Tonight" from the Roxy (Hollywood) 1986.
The video at the end is from Deer Creek, Indiana 1991 "Dust N' Bones."
You can find both of those videos on YouTube.

Izzy is a different class, most people don't realise how important he was to the GN'R sound, and songwriting.
Thanks for posting this.

Izzy aint underrecognized!
We recognize him! The fucking soul and power behind Guns!
The jazz and the blues. The rock n roll.
He was GnR's Keith Richards and Tom Waits.
And -he- still makes good music.

The backbone of GNR! When he left it became "The Axl Rose Project" and the band quickly fell apart.
jimmaaaa 2 years ago 20
well i don't know if that's 100% true absolutely izzy was a massive part of GNR but at that point it wouldn't matter who left first GNR was dying =(
