Selena was already famous prior to her death, mostly in spanish speaking countries.. but she was also famous in the U.S. such as L.A, Chicago ..New York.. Miami... but yeah she wasn't completely known in the U.S. like she is now.. When she died.. America learned about her then.. and yes the movie also put her out there.. but i would say that Jennifer Lopez would have become famous in one way or another..even if she hadnt gotten the part. i think the movie ..just put her on the map...
