  • He may use software on a laptop to compose, to search for ideas, but he would finally record with real analog synths.

I use soft synths since 10 years and I will finally go back to hardware. There's a lack in software when it come to analog sounds.

  • @Theotim92

...he uses analog because he can afford awesome gear. even a voyager is out of my price range.

besides, he'd loose his target market if he didn't use real analog because that his deal (it sure isn't writing good songs).

  • "As a great user of analog instruments, it is probably one of the first time, with a virtual synth such as the Nexus 2, that I can really compare the texture, the transients, the impact of the low range and the diversity of the sounds with what I find in an analog machine.

The interface is easy to use, the arpeggiator is really cool, and the sounds find always their place in a mix.

The Nexus 2 is already one of my favorite synths of all time! " what should we believe now? . . . . .

  • JMJ prefers true analog synths/equipment.

Back in 1997 he said similar things about the Clavia Nord Lead 2...and how he was 'blown away' by the 'tactile control, warmth and realism' of simulated analog.

For the style of music JMJ engages in, warm true analog and 80's style digital is what he's famous for. I doubt very much he tours with a software/va rig.....the last few concerts he's done Ive seen a wall of ANALOG to make you cry lol.

  • JMJ says, he worked with Moog modulars, ARP2600, and beeing able to have it all in the laptop is truly great.

In other interviews he says, the real analog synths are like Stradivarius of the electronic music, and nothing could ever replace the originals with their sound... what should we believe now?

  • perfekt ein traum von hardware,he the best mfg

  • As an Arturia customer, I must say I am glad to see such legendary musicians share my choice for their instruments.
