  • One of my best tricks when sniping is to pick off other snipers. The way I do this is to use a high powered rifle and scope while having some map knowledge. There is always an area that snipers love to camp and pick off anybody they can see. They cannot however watch the entire map so just find an angle on them and get an easy headshot.

  • @NDNguitarguy Definitely a solid tactic and one of the "roles" I went over in my Roles to the Recon video. Def need to take down enemy recons.

  • o.O ProTip: Secondaries should always be the OPPOSITE of your primary meaning silenced primary, unsilenced secondary and vice versa. Its obviously always good to have some sort of silenced weapon but it makes no sense to have TWO silenced weapons as usually when you need to do a quick swap instead of a reload, the bad guys already know where you are. I prefer the tac. pistols w/silenced main but when sniping, supp. pistols is the way to go (i like G17c supp more but that's just preference)

  • @MrTehPuppy I'm still deciding about silencers or not for me. But I'll def try out the G17c

  • @XxliamXY500xX Thanks. Right now, your best bet to get in games with me is to either follow me on twitter or add me on battlelog. Whenever I need a squad I post on both of those. So if you follow either one, you'll get the message.

Glad you enjoy! Sorry about the old account.

  • oh man what a squad. Send you a huge PM on our website, check it out when you have a bunch of free time. Good video though

  • @toucanman16 Haha we did get scared near the end when the score was close, but we did alright :-)

  • Try out bolt actions with straight pull bolts. It becomes a high damaging, slow firing semi-auto :)

  • @TheEcasx Definitely want to use them more. It just really limits my close quarter ability, but hey, I got to start sometime.

I felt I was pretty successful with the G18, look forward to using it more and mastering it.

  • The G18 is hard to master. I've got almost 1000 kills with it, but I've learned much. Even at around a range of 10m, it is often risky to go full auto, because of the sheer inaccuracy of it (being a machine pistol, this isn't surprising) and the recoil. You really need to burst fire it, but when you master it, you can kill people with Assault Rifles such as M16s or F2000s. It is especially effective in Hardcore since at a range of 0-10m it takes the same amount of bullets to kill as an AR (3).

  • Is it just me or does the video play slowly? I'm having terrible trouble trying to watch this at the moment.

  • @Leviro1993 Hm, works for me, sorry...

  • My typical set-ups depend on wether i'm playing on aircraft maps or not.

    primary: L96-(Ballistic 12x--Straight Pull Bolt--Suppressor)

    secondary: G18 silenced

PDW's: Radio Beacon/T-UGS(or Laser Designator when there is aircraft)

    Specialisation: Squad Cover

  • @GBHardcore4LIFE I'll try out more of the bolt actions for sure. Straight pull bolt definitely would be nice for those misses!

  • just a lil tip use the T-UGS (Motion Sensor) alot you will almost never get caught from behind because u will always see them in the radar

  • @Bran4995 Yea I never think I'll be in the same spot that long, even though I tend to be in this game. I'll definitely need to drop it more often.

  • @MassNERDerer but you can always pick it back up ;p :)

  • ...as a T-UGS which your squadmate was doing. If you change positions, pick it up (with X) and when you get resituated, put it down again. And lastly, 5) If you get killed a position, do not go back there for revenge or to try and satisfy your original goal. You wasted several tickets trying to spawn on the coast and you died 2 or 3 times feeding tickets to the opposing teams.

  • @Incep710n Haha, I admitted how bad that spot on the coast was in game, but definitely got a few deaths there. I'll try out the other sights, but on that map, I think the rifle scopes worked better.

Good info, thanks a lot. I'll work it in and see how I do in the future.

  • Thing(s) you do right: wait for the right time to take the shot.

Things you do wrong: 1) you never ever check your six. Whether I'm running to a new position or semi-stagnant at one for a little, always always always check behind you every 5-10 seconds. 2) If you're going to play a squad mode like that you need to put an ACOG (4x) or M145 (3.4x) scope on those rifles so you can be more fluid. 3) Take no more than 5 shots from one position (don't be a sitting duck). 4) Use the MAV...

  • @MassNERDerer Less than you may think to be honest, a least from my experience, if you remember to switch it on and off depending of the combat situation then you should be fine. It just allows for easy close quarter no-scoping when your caught by surprise. I'm sure everyone's tips here can help all of us and keep the good videos coming! :D

  • @GuiltlessSpark Thanks. I look into the laser light for the semi-autos from now on. See how it works for me.

  • Normally I tend to just use PDWs and support my team with my MAV. Because my sniping is pretty terrible. Lol. Just unlocked the L96 which is a pretty awesome rifle. But I'm not quick enough for getting instant headshots like some snipers I've come into contact with. But oh well. Great vid and happy gaming man. :)

  • @Crimsoncat9 Yea I was a PDW recon, but my sniping is awful. I want to improve it. So I will follow my improvement on here, sharing what I learn along the way. Hopefully it could be useful and entertaining at the same time.

    Thanks

  • Good video. Only thing i could share is, if you are engaged use cover and inch your way out till you get a clear shot so you dont give them an easy shot. Half the time they wont even see you. If i get a few kills i like to move but not far cuz they might come back thinking you haven't moved for another easy kill. Always scan, never scan using your scope. Always spot! Lol easy points. I like sniping could you do more sniping vids?

  • @MrShmotz More sniping on the way. I'll still mix in some other stuff, but I'll keep some coming. Thanks!.

Very good tips about scanning, NOT aiming down sight. I think I do that a lot already, but will bring it up.

  • Try to use m40a5 with a straight pull bolt, you can shoot really fast. Imo the sight you're using on sv98 is awful, i prefer 12x or the 8x.

  • @MrTachiPirina I'll definitely try out other sights for it, thanks!

And I have to unlock the straight pull bolt first, lol, but I like having a quick bolt action. I'll work on it!

  • Try a more the aggressive recon approach. Get into enemy territory, place your beacon in a strategic spot and disrupt enemy movements. Recon doesn't necessarily equal sniper. The beauty of the class is it can be played both ways. I was playing Recon in the classic sniper role when I started with the class, I enjoyed it. I gave the aggro approach a shot and fell in love. My game really improved and I find you become essential on any squad.

    Great video!

  • @lionOFjudah33 I specifically want to be a better "sniper" though. But I figured the tips I learn and share on the way, will apply to the recon kit as a whole as well. I'm fairly good with the all kit weapons, so I'm much more comfortable there, but not so much when I have a sniper in my hands. I still think it's inferior to other weapons, but could have it's place...

  • @MassNERDerer Give the semi's with a low powered scope a shot. I never run with an all kit. The semi's increase your effectiveness ten fold IMO.

  • MassNERDerer it maybe risky but if you can it works wonders. Also trying to put the beacon inside a generally empty building can help to. Example- in the map where u hav to base jump down for the 3rd round of mcoms (cant remember the map name), if u base jump to the right where the big yellow cat truck is there is a green building nxt to it. Beacon there will eliminate the base jump all togther for the squad.

  • One of the best things in do while attacking in rush is put a spawn beacon on the enemy lines and parachute as far behind the base as possible then let ur team spawn on u and get a lot of kills

  • @IndianDominator Ah, parachuting. Very risky in my book. A lot of people don't pay attention, but we always catch the parachuters..

  • Also it may sound odd but if you use a high power scope and a laser sight that allows you to get, in a way, the best of both worlds!

  • The PDWs are sometimes your best friend as recon, it allows you to get in close but still fully utilise the kits gadgets e.g. MAV. As for sniping with a rifle, playing hardcore allows for you to use a blot action and kill with one to the body. Even in long range maps though I would suggest to never use the Bipod, especially on Attack, however it does depend on how good you are and the situation. :)

  • @GuiltlessSpark Oh yea, PDWs are how I unlocked all the guns to begin with! haha. But I specifically want to try and learn to snipe as a recon. I can do well with PDWs, as you see, I struggle more with the sniper rifle.

What about the laser sight giving away your position, or causing targets to move when they see the red before you get on target? Isn't that common?

  • love this series

  • @joemah555 I'm glad. I was curious how it would be accepted, but if you guys like it, more will come :)

Along with all the other videos I'm working on still

  • A tip that I use when playing is, take for example that guy who ran past your TUGS.

You shot him and started to go straight back to your camping spot. Keep in mind the killcam. It shows what you do after you kill him. And then when you turned around he killed you because he knew where you were. So basically what I'm saying is, if your camping and you kill a guy that close to you then run away from your camping spot for a good 10 seconds.

  • @Aryajmarya I can't help but dislike the term "camping spot". I mean, I'm a sniper. I'm not going to be running around the whole map. It's a deathmatch mode, I was setting up. A squadmate and I were effectively covering a third of the map. Not camping in my eyes. But I wasn't worried about them knowing where I was. I had decent cover. I was hoping to attract some attention.

Will keep the kill cam in mind for sure though. Thanks

  • Do the Semi-autos give a 1hit kill to the head? Coz i cant seem to get them with the semi autos :/ I like the bolt actions, but I'd rather use a semi auto so that i can just switch to an acog or red dot sight mid match to become a bit more offensive and on the ground to help my squad out. any ideas? Great video! tbh gotta say this is going to be a series I'm itching to watch!!!

  • @Darksight92 Yes, semi-autos still do one hit kills to the head, but it depends on the range. Once you get far out, they may only do about 60% damage to the head.

google "symthic damage charts" to see the stats. But they def make it easier close range to pop off multiple shots. So do you like seeing my mistakes as well, or would you prefer only my better games?

  • @MassNERDerer Dude, if you dont show people what NOT to do they will keep making their own mistakes and wont learn. Problem with gaming is people learn to think only temporarily. with cod thats fine, but with the amazing and better bf games. you gotta think alllll the time! which is awesome! and makes it feel more real. So yeah, bring on the mistakes! having a good squad and tactics are what makes this game feel totally awesome!

  • 3 people in your squad are recon.

    seriously?

  • @ShishirG96 Didn't you hear me say we wanted to win with all recons? We only switched because of the dang tank. We would've done 4 recons if not for it.

  • Are you doing this for yourself or the viewers just asking. Great game though.

  • @ProUprise For the viewers! I wouldn't show my awful sniping otherwise! lol

I figured it would be entertaining to see me struggle as well. But it's not just me giving tips, or some pro sniper giving tips. It's me using what I've found from other sources including my viewers and other producers, then combine them. Sort of like a road to commander, but road to recon with help. lol

  • Seems like it could be a good series. I think it could improve by showing more tactics, like how you 'guestimated' the enemy would spawn behind you. When I decide to play Recon in a deathmatch mode, I usually go with an ACOG scope. It allows for short to medium distance easily while still being able to get that longer ranged kill if needed.

  • @tgistix I'll try ACOG more. I tried a few games in conquest, did well, but was only going like 6-0 or so in 15 mins. Was just not enough to show or learn from, so went to deathmatch.

So you think I should break it down more. Less learn from my mistakes and maybe more of me doing good stuff?

  • @MassNERDerer Definitely focus more on the good stuff. I wouldn't want to see the same mistakes that I make during a game, I'd rather see what I should be doing during the game.

  • @tgistix Guess that does make sense..

  • u need to get into cover.. even slopes can provide cover

  • @BanjozGaming Yea, I definitely need to use more cover. I'm just such a mobile guy with other kits. But it's not only a weak point for recon, gets me killed as assault as well.

  • My Tip: Just Shoot MuthaF*ckas Up!!! ;)

  • @XxAdikktedGamingxX haha easier said than done with a sniper rifle for me!
