Man this song makes me mad, the show had such promise, but the end was just not as good as should have been. For such a long time i geeked over this series, but it just didn't work for me. Ah well, there are still a few jewel episodes i will remember forever in this rusty series.
I feel like Luna before death was the embodiment of the majority of the population's thoughts and fears. Maybe it was through her own experiance in death that she realized her "healing," in terms of sending people to their true salvation, was not in fact all that she thought it to be at the time and so in her misguidedness took away the only chance at true life they were given by giving them a new meaningless existance instead. I dont know, it was just a thought.
No offense, but how can you not understand Ergo Proxy by yourself/on your own? Yes, it's a complex story, but not so much that you can't follow along (as long as you're paying attention).
Ultimately humans were responsible for the tragic villain that is called Luna. Created to end their eternal, tiresome "living", but flawed in the sense she spread the rumor she could heal instead.
In letting herself be killed by Casshern she believed it would rid her of an eternity of death, thus spreading ruin all around her.
Yes, she was a master troll. I mean listen to the parts around 1:40 where the lyrics go "FFFUUUUUU. Fffffffuuuuuuuu. Fuuu fuuuu" She must like rage guy too.
@boxOhobo seems like the older one was similar but had some major differences also, i think the newer one is a little more darker. i havent seen the older one but i saw pieces of some episodes. if you or any one knows where i can watch the original with english subs please let me know.

@berserkpaladin1234 survival is not necessarily happiness or joyful, it can be quite monotonous... they forgot how to live life under the coils of immortality (at least in my opinion)

I never felt that with Ergo Proxy. As a matter of fact it never really resonated in my heart. Casshern did. I felt a connection to the characters, liek I was journeying with them through agony and happiness.
There were times when I literilly felt the saddness that the characters in the series felt and the overwhleming saddness that the whole series portrays. I have felt that with very few Anime's.
The problem with Ergo Proxy is that you have to read ovedr reviews of the show to fully understand it. It is complicated for the sake of being complex to rave in its own complexity and the fact that "look at me, I;m deep, philosophical, etc compared to everyone else." Thats where that series fails. Even the Matrix trilogy was easy to understand compared to Ergo Proy. Now Casshern Sins IS better then Ergo PRoxy. There were times when it almost brought me to tears. So many tragic endings.

I think that since their blood mixed it wasnt really a switch but more or less a mix of both personalities and purposes. Casshern killed but also wanted to protect. Luna wanted to heal but also killed after Casshern killed her.
They should just make an episode where casshern is just smashing on luna all episode. She is a bitch, especially to that guy protecting her, and was searching for her.
But her theme is very nice. I kinda panicked when I saw it wasn't in the original soundtrack but then I downloaded the special album - yey there it is.
