between the oringal cartoon and the dic cartoons, the toys were based on the Comic, which through out the toyline 83-96, the comics were canon alongside the toys, and the shows, movie, and mini series were not. So this cobra commander from the first half or the dic series, is not cobra commander but a crimson guardsmen, how ever the CC form the dragonfire mini series is a continuation from the movie and is 0% canon.
Joe.
Uhhh, yeah. This is a little after I lost interest in GI-Joe. Mostly because they had started with this kind of crap toy. What idiot of an army would go into battle with that kind of stuff? The motorized tank, yeah. A jeep with twin fifties mounted on the back, no prob! A three legged bouncy ball thingy?
LOL! Yeah! I couldn't get over that one too! LOL! By the way, ever wonder where teh fuel tanks were on the "Trouble Bubble" and that green jet powered "VSTOL" thingy that the Joes flew in?
Ever noticed that none of the equipment had a loader action figure? WHo loads all these wonderful cannons! LOL! There are two guys in that Joe cannon thing and no place for ammo storage! LOL!
So, tell me, do you knwo where the fuel tanks are on these wonderful little machines!?! LOL! I damned sure don't! LOL Odd that they would start out going fro such realism and then, before the toy line was over, started forgetting things like that. But, of course, they also started coming in very un-military colors schemes too.
wow! i have the repaint of the pogo and the other vehicle. all considerations, G.I. Joe went down hill right after the movie. they had some good stuff 1 or 2 runs after but, crap later.
I know Cobra Commander had this metallic uniform during the first season of DIC G.I.Joe. I can't recall if they changed if afterwords though I remember he had several different designs in the toys, one of which allowed you to see his face.
This is the most pathetic cobra vehicle I ever saw... IMO.

This is the exact point where GI Joe got lame.

Pogo was really poorly made. Real departure from the sturdiness of previous vehicles. Sort of a 'beginning of the end' kind of deal.

I think they got the concept for the GI Joe Slam from watching too many episodes of the $25,000 Dollar Pyramid.

Good point! LOL! He'd have to have better stuff than that to force someone to buy it! LOL!

Man, they were reaching with these toys. The pogo might have stopped the joes in their tracks from laughter, though.

I would have loved to "live the adventure of G.I. Joe" back in the day but my mother wouldn't let us.

It came out around the time of G.I.Joe the movie. But they turned CC into a snake. Although Sunbow was going to bring him back, they lost out to DIC.
cheeseburger12 4 years ago
Yes this was before DIC got control of G.I. Joe and ruined it.
The DIC cartoon version of Cobra Commander had a completely different uniform.

Oh very cool. I was so over G.I. Joe by that time anyways. It wasn't the same as it was when Marvel/Sunbow had it.
